League / Tournament / Competition History

Post by archibalduk »

I'm working on updating the competition histories in EHM for the Manimal Rosters. Virtually all of the playable leagues (other than a couple of international competitions) were updated for Manimal v4.1, but I'm working on updating the non-playable leagues and the playable international competitions in for the v4.2 rosters (due to be released next week I hope).

Anyway, I'm having difficulty finding the champions for a couple of leagues. Is there anybody who might know exactly where to find this information, or perhaps you know the champions yourself?

The leagues I'm looking for are as follows (I've put in brackets the seasons I'm looking for). I need at least the name of the champions, but if the information relating to the runners-up and regular season champions are available then that would be a bonus:

Finland Games (2006/07 - 2011/12)
Finnish Junior League (2006/07 - 2011/12)
Scottish National League (2006/07 - 2011/12)

I'm also looking for the data for the following international tournaments for years prior to 2000 or 2001. For these I need the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed teams and the host:

World Championships Div 1A (before 2001)
World Championships Div 1B (before 2001)
World Junior Championships U-20 Div 1 (before 2000)

I also haven't been able to find any data for any seasons for the following international tournaments (1st, 2nd, 3rd and hosts):

Czech Four Nations U-20 Tournament
Finnish Four Nations U-20 Tournament
Russian Four Nations U-20 Tournament
Swedish Four Nations U-20 Tournament
Slovak Cup
Swiss Cup

Any help would be much appreciated!

From what I can tell the "1st place team" of 1A/1B shows in wikipedia (I looked up World Championships Div 1A and World Championships Div 1B.....Div 1A was the winner of the B Pool before 2001, and Div 1B was the winner of the C Pool.....I'm not sure if there was a "playoff" of any sort (I don't think so), just the Pool winners were promoted.....wouldn't the host of Div 1A/Div 1B just be the host of the World Championships that year?

Thanks Nino! That is extremely helpful indeed. If anybody knows the history of hockey, it's you!! :D

Thanks for explaining the WCs with regards to Pools B and C. I'll go with that for the EHM history. I completely agree about the host being the WC host.

Thanks again. :)

Ah I think the teams you've posted for the WJC Div 1 are actually for the top WCJ. I've found the Div 1 standings on Wikipedia though. For some reason they're not available on the IIHF site.

They are! I never even noticed the "Div 1" when I posted (sorry about that).....I never knew there were two additional/seperate WJC tornaments played in addition to the main one!

Div 1 is second tier of World competitions. Elite level is 1st tier, Div 1 2nd, Div 2 third etc, etc... ;)
