I didn't know where to put this so I am sorry if this is the wrong place for this thread.
I want to start playing the game right now, so I have updated the rosters (using Manimal 4.1) and set the start date to 2012. I updated all the players that have been signed or traded up until now. I started a game up and encountered quite a large problem. All of the free agents who are yet to sign are still with their old teams. Their contracts were set to expire, but they were "re-signed" for some reason. Do I need to go through every single player and make them a free agent or is there an easier way to fix this?

Yes, you need to remove the UFAs.
Even if they are listed with a contract end date that is before the start of the game, they will still be with their teams
