Preseason Roster Incomplete with Extra Goalies

After the first few preseason games, I always start getting a message that my roster is incomplete. If I allow my staff to make changes, they send all but two of my goalies to the minors. Since my top two goalies would have to clear waivers, I am unable to play any of the others. Does anyone know why this happens and how I might be able to get around it?

Hmmm...on October 1st teams have to get down to a 23 man roster - usually 2 goalies, 6+ defensemen and 12+ forwards (teams rarely carry 3 goalies)


Or if you're going on holiday at all during the preseason, perhaps your AGM is making the moves (GM settings can minimize the potential of this happening)

If any of the goalies are unsigned prospects (from Junior/Europe) they'll automatically leave your team when Training Camp ends

Since my top two goalies would have to clear waivers, I am unable to play any of the others

Maybe you'll have to play "the others" in those first few preseason games

Playing as an NHL team?

Are you going on holiday at all?
If you do, what are your GM settings?

Yes this is EHM07 as an NHL team. I haven't been on vacation. I don't coach games because changes to tactics during a game wouldn't stick. I choose the roster and lines before hand and leave the tactics to the coach.

I've also seen this happen when two goalies have the same number, but I've already checked for that
