National teams and conditioning

Post by visualdarkness »

I've tried to search for this issue and I know about all threads about dropping conditioning in the off-season and at the the start of the season, but nothing like this.

Almost every time I manage a national team the conditioning of the players simply stays brutal. At first I thought that it was because I managed smaller nations but now that I'm both in the Finnish league and on the Swedish national team it can't be due to the choice of national team.

It seams way more likely to affect the best players available for the nation and if anything the players seems to drop from around 50-60% at the start of the season down to single digits at the end of it, free agency doesn't seem to affect it either. Age isn't it either as I've seen everything from 22 year old's to retiring players. I almost every time go with all leagues active so it's not that either.

This is an example when running as a Kärpet/Sweden GM. I'm at the selection for the Olympic games and players looks like this:

I have noticed that if the AI GM's don't play someone during the season their condition will drop dramatically like the screen shot of Enroth. I don't know why they aren't being played though. In one of my games the Devils had traded for Tavares and played him 25 games the first year and maybe 10 the second year. His conditioning was as horrible as your screen shot too. The funny thing is he had a rather high CA/PA (160ish).

I'm not sure what is causing it either. :dunno:

When over half the Swedish star players have a condition under 50% it has gone way past an "annoyance" for sure. If it was only one or two players I could live with it but this is brutal. I think it gets worse with each season as some players never seem to recover and low condition players therefore accumulates with time. It doesn't seem be affected by league nor nationality and I can't seem to nail down the issue.

Yeah, it's a vicious cycle - They don't get played because their conditioning is low and the longer they sit on the bench the lower it gets.
