Never said that. I just wish it will happen. I wish they wouldn't come to the east too. And I wish they could miss the playoffs until I die, after that I don't care. :-D

Yes, I love how Z wordlessly said to Toews, "yeah, you're not scoring today".

This, I think, changes everything. I think this has to give the younger guys confidence, and if they're succeeding in worming their way into Shicago's collective head, well, then the only way the Hawks win is if Detroit loses it.

GO WINGS!

I'm not too happy about them going east, either. It means it's less likely I can actually go see them play, if one day I decide to go out to a game again. I'll never get into a Habs game because they always sell out in 10 seconds here (oh but the atmosphere, I did once go years ago... playing here is like a home game for the Habs), there's a slightly better chance with getting into a Wings game.

If nobody but Detroit and Montreal won the Cup again until I die, I'd be happy, after that I don't care. :-p

God darn, the Rangers offense suck!
They don't seem to have a clue what to do once they pass the red line. And don't get me started on the power-play

The goalies surely are not playing too well in that series either, plenty of softies from Rask and Lundqvist. Girardi was a disaster in game 2, might be the worst performance by a Dman this season, didn't he end up -5 ?
Finally found a PP that's worse than the Bs, yay :joy:
I thought it was a close game despite the score and Rangers had plenty of chances when it was 2-2 and 3-2 but for some reason all their big guns went completely AWOL in the third. Pierre's obsession with Callahan is creepy but at least it keeps him from talking about Sid during the game, which he'd just love to do.

Wojtek Wolski is gonna play in the KHL next season. Not a huge loss for the NHL. I had high hope for him when he started his career with the Avs. He got a good first season and after that nothing.

That goal was great! Sucks the Hawks lost though. The first period was really intense. Until the Wings lead 2-0, the game was intense from both side.... then the Wings got all the place they wanted.

No drugs, no alcohol, no speeding. Just too close to the lorry that decided to stop. Voracek tried to sneak by, ran off the road and hit that pole and tree. Lucky man

I was really looking forward to this series. But yeah it's been dud so far. The only highlights have been Krug and Bartkowski. I might switch over to another series for the remainder (seeing as I've now figured how to bypass the blackouts and don't have to wait 48 hours to watch a game... ).

BRad Richards healthy scratch. LOL. Bet the Habs or Canucks trade for yet another midget.

Colorado just got interesting again. Between Burnaby Joe and Patty Roy...this team is going to start spending some $. Yay.

Canucks Fire AV--duh...that took two weeks? And you state that you did not do it sooner to be sure you were not acting with emotion? Mike Gillis..super genious.

Problem #1 --Dear Mikey, you did not need to be emotionless to realize it was time to fire AV. Should have done it last year. Great guy, good coach, but not for this bunch of overrated buffoons.
Problem #2--So...if you go to your boss the day after something bad happens at work and say ...hey That plan I had for the last 5 years, you know the one I said was the way to go in the environment of our business....well it did not work...so I think we should try this instead...you know the POLAR OPPOSITE of what I have been working towards for 5 years....

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR BOSS WOULD DO? So problem #2 is Vancouver Canuck ownership are a bunch of morons.

Problem #3---Ballard, Booth, Luongo, $16 million in salary that you can only get rid of for nothing...and you have to get rid of. Unless somehow Gillis can sway ownership into believing that he was wrong again, and that it is okay to be wrong...those 3 have to go for NOTHING. But they will not. I expect at least 1, and probably 2 of them to be on the roster by the end of the 2013-14 season. And guess what? Gillis will not get fired.

Problem #4--Who to hire to coach this team....ummm....yeah Guy Boucher defensive idjit, Umm...Lindy Ruff...fails when he has no talent, and will try the same things as AV here as that is exactly what he has done as a coach all his time as a coach.....Dave Tippett...ummm yeah same rubbish as before. Umm..Dallas Eakins...you think the guys did not listen to AV? Wait til all these spoiled silly billies in Vancouver get told how freaking amazing and wonderful they are (That is what Eakins does...he is great with young guys)..and just to go do their thing. Well DAllas...these old boys here...there thing is float, dive, bite, whine and complain. So...yeah that changes nothing.

Problem #5...how do you get rid of all your floaters, divers and whiners when you think they are all NHL superstars. Well....come on Mike explain that. You rate Burr, the Twins, Kesler, Edler Bieska and the lot as superstars. They are actually 2nd liners and 3rd pair guys on good teams...so Have fun with that. Because everyone else knows what they are actually worth. The only one of those bums you may hit a home run with.. is Edler.

Problem #6..You just signed Edler to a new LOng term deal at a hometown discount with a no trade that kicks in July 1. So you move him before July 1? How does that make your progressive, I love the players and treat the players like gold look to other guys. Yeah...they all gonna keep signing those hometown disccount deals aren't they. Oh yeah....forgot same goes for Alex Burrows. Except all you get for him is a 2nd line plug, who is really a third line guy.

I'm seeing some old rivalry coming up here. I hope you're not entirely serious, because what batdad was saying about you before might be true. Roy is a great coach. I agree he is sometimes emotional ALOT but I like to see that in a coach if he can control himself at a certain point. Which Pat learned in the past years. He won a Memorial Cup, not that bad, still has something to prove in the NHL though I agree. He's good with young guys, the Avs are young. And if by any chance those young guys like to do party like Giguere said, Roy will not let that happen very long and Joe too. This is probably one of the most interesting duo and experienced one in the entire NHL. They just need to find a new DG IMO but I guess Roy will have alot to tell in further decisions. Seeing old faces that made the Avs a great team in the early 00's taking the wheel now has raised some interest again from me towards this team. I'm eager to see what's going to happen in the next years. Either they become good or they will stay average.

No, he is not.

There is absolutely zero evidence that Roy is a good coach at any pro level whatsoever. None, zip, zero. Because he has never coached at one. We see this time and time again, where an ex-player become coach and falls on his face (Wayne Gretzky, anyone?), and Roy has no pro coaching experience.

Look, the Avs are a mess. Not only did they hire in Roy, but they hired in Roy reporting to Sakic and not the GM. So they have not only hired a coach with no pro coaching pedigree, they then have fractured the front office in doing so even.

Tell me again how this is going to end well. History in the NHL shows us it's not. There were better candidates, but they opted for the Old Boys Club instead. Have fun with that.

No he hasn't been proven at the 'pro level', but he has a very impressive junior record. 349-159-37 over 8 season with the Quebec Remparts (minus the first 5 games of the 05/06 season) His team won the Memorial Cup in his firat year (2006). His teams have always been competitive. No this doesn't mean it will equal success at the NHL level, but Colorado has avery young team and Roy is the perfect fit there.

It's not like Roy is coming in 'off the street' never having coached before like Gretzky. Roy at least has coaching experience in some capacity. Roy has also been rumored for a head coach position for a few years now because he's been so succesful in Junior.

You don't follow the QJHMJ hockey league at all and I've seen what Roy is capable off, you, absolutey not. Like I said in my post, I don't know what it will look like, so do you. You just pretend things, because obviously you don't like the man and the Avs. I don't think Sakic got ahead of the front office, he is too classy for that. The owners probably know what they're doing too, even if it's risky. Roy and Sakic together is 2047 NHL games combiened together, with two Stanley Cups and alot of playoffs experience.. You think they don't know how things work at all?

Did Wayne Gretzky coached 8 years a junior team before going to the NHL? Nope, wrong argument sorry. At least he knows the base of the job and the Avs are not that much of a mess. They have pretty decent prospects and soon enough another good one. They are only 2-3 years away of being a really good team. You're talking like Roy is a savior and everything will change next season already. Nobody said that. There's works to do, Sakic, Roy and the owners know that. Will it work? Maybe yes, maybe not.

That just confirm what batdad is saying IMO. And like timmy said, you're just yapping before thinking. It's not because the history show us that there's not many players who did well at those jobs that it cannot change at some point. You're one hell of an optimist. (<---sarcasm by the way) I'm not entirely sure myself that Roy will succeed, because like you said (only good point you've made) he got no experience higher than junior but that doesn't mean that he will sucks. Like Loosie said, he's been in alot of rumors in recent years because he was good in the junior and why did Roy refused? Because he was thinking he was not ready and needed more experience. Roy as one hell of a determination, don't underestimate him.

I don't know if I did well by taking my time to make that post looking how narrow minded you seem to be. :dunno:
