Not to downplay what Rask and Thomas have done in the playoffs. But the fact that Boston is doing with it is doing with a different goalie is it the system that Boston plays or the goalie?bruins72 wrote:Rask makes us Boston fans forget all about Tim Thomas.
I know that you still need to have good goaltending to get as far as the Bruins have (twice now), but Boston's defence is certainly helping.

Of course, both Thomas and Rask have benefited from the Bruins system and strong team defense. That being said, they both totally stole some games for the Bruins and have played out of their minds to keep the Bruins in it when they've slacked off.

Re: Official 2013 NHL Playoff Thread
Eventhough they've both had really good save percentage. And a good defence might help in that way that the opposition doesn't get good shots which can result in a good save percentage for the goalie. But they're both great goalies (Rask & Thomas) and great saves has been made.
Dunno what my point was here really (a bit drunk
)
I'd like Chicago to win but as Rask is the only fellow Finn in the final then I'd be stupid not to want Boston to win the cup.

Danielle Briere will be buy out by the Flyers.<
Yesterday game was looking pretty insane. Too bad I didn't watched it.

Lol at people questions whether Crawford would be in for Game 5. Starting goalie lets in 5 goals, still wins the game, but yes lets put in Emery for Game 5.

Re: Official 2013 NHL Playoff Thread
I hope game 5 is as good/entertaining as game 4 was...
Will Crawford continue his poor play?
Was it a good idea for the Hawks to publicly suggest they've figured Chara out?
Will there be another OT game?
I'm not a Hawks fan...go Bruins!
EDIT - Well it was nowhere near as good/entertaining...and the Hawks won

Jonathan Bernier got traded to the Leafs for Scrivens, Frattin and a second round pick. Seems a little high for me.

Then again, it's the Leafs, why be surprised?

Yeah I'm really not surprised. Scrivens was doing a nice job. They don't trust Reimer enough already? Bernier always wanted a shot at been a #1 so he got is chance. I thought in the past the kid had a nice potential but I lost hope for him troughout the years. We'll see what he can do there if they give him a chance.

After Briere it's Kaberle contract that will be buy-out, no big surprise here.

Tortorella will be confirmed tomorrow with the Nucks. I really don't think it's a good move at all.....

What an ending OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm glad my prediction was wrong!!!!!!! Congrats to the Hawks!
Edit: Conn Smythe shouldn't go to Kane at all. He did well in the past games but Rask clearly deserved it IMO.

Re: Official 2013 NHL Playoff Thread
Almost kind of a fitting end to the season. Two quick W-T-F goals that even caught the Hawks by surprise, and it's over. That kinda' sums it all up doesn't it: lots of promise, but in the end it kinda' goes out in a whimper instead of a bang. This was the year of the Blown Lead and The Questionable Game-Affecting Call. And the shortened/compressed/late schedule, no inter-conference play, and realignment for next season.philou21 wrote:What an ending OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!![]()

Congrats to the Blackhawks!
I stopped rooting for the Bruins when Bergeron was holding Crosby and Chara punched him in the face.

Yeah it's easier to swallow if Chicago were leading since a long time but 2 goals back to back at the end of the third, ouch.jhcjobpb wrote:I feel sorry for the Boston fans. What an ending.

At least it was "only" game 6 not 7. Small comfort though.philou21 wrote:Yeah it's easier to swallow if Chicago were leading since a long time but 2 goals back to back at the end of the third, ouch.jhcjobpb wrote:I feel sorry for the Boston fans. What an ending.

Whatever works for the Bruins fan.
Seems the Flyers finally decided to buy out Bryzgalov. This situation in Philly is so ridiculous. What a waste of money from quick decisions. They're just looking like a bunch of idiots right now.

Well, to be fair, we've been trying for years to sign a good goalie, but without success. So, why not try paying a goalie to not play for us? It's like an "anti-contract" if you will. #Flyers2014philou21 wrote:Seems the Flyers finally decided to buy out Bryzgalov. This situation in Philly is so ridiculous. Re: Official 2013 NHL Playoff Thread
Yeah I know they always had that problem since a couple of years but I think Bryz contract was much more a desperate move than anything else. With the Mason trade it was even more predictable that they would do it. If they gives reasonable contracts to Mason but he fail, it's gonna be alright. They should try to draft a goalie this year in the first round.
