I didn't know/thanks much for sharing!Animal31 wrote:Yeah, used the saved game editor, load up a save, and click the "club" tab up top
for instance
my New Jersey Devils have 10,000 rep in two of my saves, where the Vancouver Giants have 3500, and 4200 respectivly. I dont know what they started at tho
Edit: Im under the impression that the Rep does not shrink as a team loses. The penguins in one game have finished around 12th, topping at 7th for the past 10 seasons, and have 10,000 rep

After simming forward 6 years, the Charleston Checkers (mine) have won the UHL Regular Season 4 times in a row
Their current rep is 4399
They started at 3900
The Colimbia Gaters have finished 5th more times than not
Their current rep is 3810
They started at 3200
After the Ontario Nationals finished 7/6th in the AHL east
Their Current is 6500
They started at 6500
Prince George sucks too
6200, to 6200
So im just going to assume, unless someone shows me otherwise, that Rep does not go down

Re: Official Pre Game Editor Thread. All questions here plea
I think club reputation affects whether or not a player is likely to sign with that team. The lower the rep, the more you'll have to do in order to convince the player to sign (e.g. higher wages/bonuses/etc). Presumably the league reputation also plays a part in this - and of course there is probably some sort of hardcoded effect going on too (because the top players would rather be UFAs than sign with a non-NHL league when the NHL's league reputation is set to a low value).

Does anyone know how Team Training affects player development
because I set one NHL team to 10, another to 20, made every coach in the game the same, and made every player in the game the same, and the player on the worse team is so far developing better.
Its obviously affected by things like playing time and how much they score, but im just not seeing any sort of difference from the team training value in the editor

Have you tried any testing outside the NHL to see if the results are similar?Animal31 wrote:Does anyone know how Team Training affects player development

My understanding is "Training" refers to the quality of training facilities...maybe the NHL has a hardcoded value that doesn't respond to editing

Re: Official Pre Game Editor Thread. All questions here plea
So I was taking a nap while letting the game just run
All the players started at all 12's except for determination, which was 20, with CA of 120, and PA of 200

Is now CA of 153, on team training of 10

CA of 169 on team training of 20 and has the highest rep in the game and consistantly has the highest attributes of anyone that isnt a regen

not sure of the other factors involved, but it looks like it does make a difference, just not as big as anticipated, and it takes longer to come to notice than I though

im going to see if I cant get these guys on life contracts and see how they are when they are in their prime, ill post again

Not exactly in their prime, but a few years later

Colin is 185 (20 training) and the highest CA of any player in the game
and Not!Colin is 156 (10 training) at 8th in the game, with 4 Spartans players ahead of him
Not!Colin must benefit from having a really strong goalie on his team, while Colin has to split ice time between 3 team mates but still being the only real right wing on the team. Or something
I actually have no idea

Re: Official Pre Game Editor Thread. All questions here plea
I can't find my answer with the search function so here it is;
In the extra_config file there's a section
# Changing team colours:
# "TEAM_COLOUR_CHANGE" "teamname" "colour" "type" "strip"
# Type consists of:
# FOREGROUND - BACKGROUND - TRIM
# Strip consists of
# HOME - AWAY - THIRD
with the PGE I can change Home and Away colors but if I change the third jersey colors within the extra_config where will it appear in game? I don't recall seeing third jersey.

I askred Alessandro that same question, he told me there IS NOT a third jersey. But I dunno why there is a "third" mentioned there.Asbeen wrote:I can't find my answer with the search function so here it is;

It may be an artefact from Championship Manager (on which EHM was initially based). Football teams in CM had three jerseys.

With the 1998 database I too have gotten some "Access Violation" error messages this weekend (I was on the Clubs tab, and I was counting the number of teams by using the down arrow on my keyboard to move through the team names within a selected League...certain teams, when highlighted, caused the message to occur)Road Rage wrote:Hey guys.

I'm not sure why it's occurring or what it means though...maybe Archi will know

If you read the post attached to the new roster update, you'll see it's been noted in there that an error exists using the pregame editor. Instead of delaying the DB release to try and fix it, the DB has been released, and they're working on figuring out how to fix it.Road Rage wrote:Hey guys.

Until they do, you can't safely use the newest update in the PreGame Editor.

Re: Official Pre Game Editor Thread. All questions here plea
It seems to relate to the Staff Awards History. I have restored the old Staff Awards History (i.e. a copy prior to me adding the 2013 winners) and the Pre-Game Editor seems absolutely fine with the DB (i.e. it'll save, load and exit). I just need to figure out what it is about the Staff Awards History which is causing the issue.nino33 wrote:I'm not sure why it's occurring or what it means though...maybe Archi will know

Hello archibalduck,
Can i solve this access violation problem on my own or have i wait on a new 13/14 TBL version?
Is the staff awards history a file that i could change or replace by an older version?
Best regards
Comyn

It's not something that can easily be resolved without using the various backups I have. I have created what appears to be an error-free version and I'm just double-checking it at the moment. If all is well, I will upload it to the site because I know users are keen to edit the DB for themselves.Comyn wrote:Hello archibalduck,

Hey,
I want to add my old minnesotan bantam team and that league into the game? Could i just add the teams to the West U16 league or do i have to make a completely new league? Or would i have to add the teams to the Canadian Bantam leagues? I tried before by making a league in pregame but it didnt show up in game?

My understanding is you can add teams to non-playable leagues (like the West U16/Canadian Bantam leagues) without a problem...I don't recall ever trying to do so, as I've always made new leagueswildguy108 wrote:Hey,

I've certainly done that with the non-playable English National League and Scottish National League. I have added new teams, moved out existing teams, changed the number of teams in each of those leagues, etc without any problem.nino33 wrote:My understanding is you can add teams to non-playable leagues (like the West U16/Canadian Bantam leagues) without a problem...I don't recall ever trying to do so, as I've always made new leagueswildguy108 wrote:Hey,

Hello again,
How could I make it so there are always players in that league, for example: the u16 teams and the bantam teams in Canada always have players in them no matter what year your in. How could I make it so they are players in the league at all times?
