Blue Jackets sign Carter

Looks like Zherdev is definitely playing in Russia this year. I'm not sure how good Carter will be without the Sedin Twins surrounding him, but if gets to play with Nash, and possibly Brule, he should still put up decent numbers. I can see him on a line with Brule, give the kid some protection at the same time as setting him up.

darn, was really hopeing the Leafs would pick him up. I agree though, that the potential line of Nash - Brule - Carter is dangerous.

That is a good singing no doubt, though it will really sting if it does in fact mean they'll be with Zherdev. I think they could have challenged for a playoff spot last year had Nash not been hurt.

I'm not sure if they'll go with all their eggs in one basket so to speak but I can't think of many teams that would be happy to come up against a line of Nash-Federov-Carter either; get Brule away from the 1st line matchups a while...
