Player disappointed in team's position
In the past, I have seen players unhappy and request a trade because they are unhappy with the team's league position. This seems to happen in the AHL (I tend to control the Grand Rapids Griffins simultaneously with the Red Wings). The weird thing is that I see this after the playoffs have ended and I won the Calder Cup.
