Im just populating organisations, and not worrying about attributes at the moment, so its more of a grind than I thought

just screwing around, it turns out teams with roster limits, like the ECHL or BCHL do not send players down, they cut them

Im working on the CHL, going through all the Junior Leagues and assigning cities to Junior A and Junior B, ignoring bantam and midget for now, populating with players has been pretty boring and I seem to waste more time than if I do teams

Im still looking into it, but so far im disapointed that despite my best efforts I cant make teams like Australia or Islreal actually compete in international competitions, despite Isreal being 39th in real life world rankings, not that high but Div II group A countries are pretty interesting to look at for the 2014 worlds; Australia, Estonia, Belgium, serbia, Isreal, and Iceland. Serbia and Belgium, and Estonia all compete in game, estonia even comptes in the world juniors.

We dont have relegation and promotion here in north america, even in football, so international competitions are always the go to for cool stuff like that

And as I post that I check a game I have in 2044, and Isreal and australia were relegated from div1, actually comming in 2nd in olympic pre qualifications at some point, which is cool to see, but they only have 1 player in the database each

I used the nation extractor to change the standard of every country to 20, and give them an importance of 1, didnt seem to change the odds for them playing. Im going to see if changing the rankings does anything

edit: turns out I didnt actually edit anything

Gotta say, I do not enjoy editing players. I definitly prefer making teams and players, but not finalizing them in terms of attributes. I like making players names and stuff, but not balancing them to say "This 36 year old was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1987 entry draft by the Vancouver Lions, and has a CA of 100, and a former PA of -9"

One thing im going to look into doing for my game is a populate players button which just fills out rostors based on rep and country rep and whatnot, and make it alot easier in regards to the correlation between ability and attribute values, which doesnt seem to actually exist

How did you get Australia working in the end? Was it the Importance rating?

With regards to adding players for these sorts of countries, I think you'll have to increase the players' reputations. Otherwise I don't think EHM will necessarily load them into the game.

You could just use ratings from another DB. Do you use the EHM Updater at all? You could use the Updater to export the CAs for all NHL players in another DB, paste them into an Updater spreadsheet and then add your own players' names to them.

I used the nation extractor to give every country at least the importance of 3, then I changed the actual rankings of australia, israel, etc to something high enough to let them qualify for the WCH div 1, then gave them enough players to actually ice a strong team and boom goes the dyanamite

as for the EHM editor, I use that for testing players as I have a spreadsheet that adds around 16000 players to the free agent pool of varing skills and ages and gives every team a GM and Coach and whatnot. As for the 1:1 name editing from another DB, I prefer my way. I may be harder, but I think it will be different enough in the end to justify it

something im struggling with is how good to make my first player

I have no one to compare him too, and any player in my game is floating in space compared to the established NHL already

like this dude is 25, fantastic on offence, all right on defence, and one of the better players. Where do I put his CA? He's 25, how is he going to be in his absolute prime. Do I compare him to Koptiar at 175? or Bergeron at 160? and how good do I want the best to be? how BAD do I want the best to be?

oh unlimited creative control how you intimidate me

the ORIGINAL 2007 database has a combined 27 players that have a PA of either 190-200, or -10 (12 are -10)

I was thinking of limiting my database to 5 -10 players total, maybe even never using a hardset PA to make things more interesting, and utilizing -9's and -15's more (theres 52 -9s in the 2007 database, 17 -15s) for my star players.

Id like input on this, as im kinda just shooting Adam Oates right now

It'd be interesting to know how often a -15 player ends up with a 150+ PA, how often with a 170+ CA
I remember testing using just "0" and as I recall a 0 PA will never result in a top player...

Of 1000 (ONE THOUSAND) Players, all -15 PA, random ass other Adam Oates

14 are 190, the maximum of the PA group
10 are 110, the minimum of the PA group

272 are 170 PA and above
515 are 150 PA and above
493 are 150 PA and Below

507 = 151+
8 = 150 exact
485 = 149 -

150 is obviously 40 away from the bottom, and 40 away from the top

and obviously I cant do anymore than count individual groups using the scout tool, as theres no saved game to excel extractor that I know of

but as far as I can tell, its equal odds above or below 150

For 0 PA, I made 10,000 players

NONE of them got over 61

it MAY have something to tie into rep and CA, but im not sure

Im willing to assume that all the other PA groups have the same spread in between their values

This can actually be usful for me, as I can accurately judge just how many players are going to have a PA in the elite, or all star or franchise, maybe with a little bit of math

but like I said, im still trying to determine just what my Elite PA is

Add a Moroccon team to the interplanetary league, as the only team from earth, and a vatican team to the RSL. :-D

Does anyone know the exact time a regen is created?
Im assuming its when the game updates
but is it that year? Assume Jagr retires this year, 2014, is a Czech 16 year old created July 1st 2014? or is it July 1st 2015? I know theres a difference between canadians and americans, compared to europeans (14, 16), but does that make a difference?

Im trying to just get a feel of how good every draft year is going to be within a certain margin, IE I have 10 39 year olds at -9, does that mean the 2008 bantam draft is gonna have 10 -9s? or 2009? 2010? 2011?
