Sorry batdad, but you spelled God wrong. I just had to.
Don't be offended. I'm -->
I don't know about English, but in Finnish the lower case letter for god would've been correct, as Batdad used it there, because he was saying he would be "a god", not "the God", where the latter is referring to the specific god of certain religions. It's almost like God's name. God. With capital(s) letter. But the word god in it self is just a word, like any other.
Varlamov surpassed Roy with 41 wins yesterday as the Avs goalie with the most wins in 1 season. That's pretty amazing when we look what Varlamov has in front of him compared to what Roy had in the past.

Haha
Something even funnier. Shanahan is now president of the Leafs. Stephane Quintal will take his place from now on. I'm curious to see if things will be "different". (Big word I know)
Ryan Smith will take his retirement after the season's over.
So Ryan Malone as been arrested for driving under the influence and in possesion of cocaine. I don't know what will happen to him but Tampa Bay's line-up is falling apart since a couple of days.
Sens end up the second best Canadian team in the NHL(on points), nothing to be proud of as they don't come close to the playoffs, but there's always next year.....man I feel like I've been saying this a lot lately.

Yeah I thought about that too but you never know with the injuries of other players he could be usefull, if he's not stoned. Shouldn't be laughing about that though.... I just hope he'll get some help from the team now.
I had thought Miller would be a key/beneficial piece for the Blues...maybe not
He did well in the beginning though. Maybe the team in front of him is not playing good hockey as well.

Yeah, I think the Blues have some injury issues...
Judging from today's game, the injuries aren't as big of a problem as the defensemen getting completely lost in the neutral zone. Honestly Miller looked reeeeeeeeeally deflated, like he came to STL rejuvenated and now has lost some of that mojo again. I'll be curious to see what they do in the playoffs. They seem incredibly vulnerable though.
And their first round match-up certainly isn't going to make it any easier. St.Louis v. Chicago is going to be a good series but not one I thought we'd get until the later rounds.

I don't like the new system. As we can compare STL vs CHI, and NYR vs. PHI. I don't think it's fare.

With a 1-8 ranking system you would have gotten SJ-CHI and STL-LA. Not that different

Might not be such a big difference there. But I liked the old system better. 3.TB vs 4.MTL & 5.NYR 6.PHI. Which for me is pretty stupid. Now you're more lucky/unlucky depending on what division you're in than before.
I still find it weird but at the same time I think that with the 3-4 and 5-6 facing each others teams that are likely performing the same are competing against each other instead of picking weaker team than them. I still don't like the first in the divisions facing the wild cards though. Big difference there but hey, it was like that before and sometimes we had nice surprises.
I think the majority of fans think the new system is weird. A 1-8 doesn't change the matchups too much and after all you still have to win against anyone to win the cup but its just that little extra complicated step without a definitive reason and advantage as to why.
I see NHL.com is focusing on the Bracket challenge like March Madness does so I made a league for us, not sure if it really deserves its own thread, hopefully this link works
I just calculated the following: Ray Whitney has scored more points per game the last 4 years/seasons than Teemu Selänne.
No one talkes about the guy. He's just two years "younger" than Teemu.
I'm a Finn if you didn't know (and love Teemu). But I respect Ray!! So should you!
He's always been "under the radar"... I don't know why.
So after I filled out the bracket I realized there isn't going to be reseeding this year. Personally, I don't like that at all. Your reward for playing well all season should be the "weakest" seed every round.
Bishop will not play the first game tomorrow against the Habs. Though all the other players that were injured seems to be back on the line-up. Lindback seems to do a decent job (1st star of last week) but I hope for Tampa that Ben isn't done, especially since his injury was a little bit stupid.
