2014 Memorial Cup, London, Ontario, Canada

Post by leafsnation »

Any predictions pre-tourny?

Given that the Knights are getting five players back from illness/injury and suspension (Zach Bell (broken leg), Austin Brady (mono), Anthony Stolarz (suspension), Max Domi (shoulder), and Christian Dvorak (knee), I wouldn't bet against the home team!!

On a side note, I love that Val d'Or is in...been in that arena as a kid, plus they share jersey colours with the Knights!

I'll be at game one tonite and will report in later tonite or tomorrow!!

Well, London totally dominated last night. Good thing Bibeau is a Leafs propsect or I'd be really PO'd! ;-)
Val d'Or is going to have to play better than that if they are going to advance in this tourny. London just needs to keep playing the way they did and they'll get some goals. Three disappointments from London's side last nite...
1. Horvat looked disinterested/bored, and totally blew the penalty shot.
2. Basso was like a deer in the headlights on defense.
3. Marner needs to bulk up. Got knocked around too easily.

Otherwise I thought the Knights deserved the win.
Here's some pics from the pre-game. The Canadian band The Trews performed before the game and in the beer tent outside after. For you folks outside Canada, find a way to check them out....good stuff!

BTW...the Knights had to wear the black memorial jerseys...Foreurs wore their normal white and greens (identical to the Knights normal jerseys).
