£147 will be for the authentic/pro jerseys. These jerseys are made from stronger materials to stand the wear and tear of playing ice hockey. If you just want a jersey to wear as a fan (i.e. that won't be used to play hockey) then you want a 'replica' jersey (here's the Bruins' replica home jersey). These cost $90 (£47) on NHL.com.
You can buy NHL jerseys in the UK. I recommend http://www.ta-sports.net/. They cost £60 on this site - that's not too bad since they involve more material that a football shirt and they've been imported from NA.

Argh now I understand. Football only sell Replicas not the actual thing.archibalduk wrote:£147 will be for the authentic/pro jerseys. £150??
I paid less than that for my xbox 360.
It is like in the NFL too-the cheapest replicas come without official NFL patches or Reebok branding. They just look cheap and nasty. You have to pay full whack to get a decent looking thing.
I used to (and kinda still do) think that £40 for a new footy shirt is too much, let alone another £100 stashed on top.

Authentic jerseys are quite literally the exact jerseys the team wears. They are oversized for wearing with pads underneath, usually about twice the thickness, and the logos and such are real sewn on patches often with stiching within the patch especially for the main logo in that portions of the logo will be noticably raised from the rest, they also will have a "fight strap" in the back. If someone is calling a jersey 'Authentic' check those details; especially if you see a deal taht seems to good be true/is on eBay. Then, numbers and a name will cost you an additional sometimes almost $100 dollars US.
If you are buying a jersey that has had name/number put on it make sure it matches the team!!! I've seen Hawks jerseys with red lettering, as well as black lettering with red stitching. No and no!
'Replica' jerseys are fan jerseys basically. They aren't even half as thick (you can see your hand through most of the white ones actually) and are fitted more like a sweater than a "sweater" (as the old skool call jerseys) and usually if you get a CCM or other real branded version have real looking patches but they often are 'flat' versions with no extra raised area/piping/stitching and like the jersey just aren't as substantial as the Real Article. The do look better if you have a quality shop or online merchant add real numbers/name to them but again people if you or a relative sharing your last name didn't actually play for the team you don't get your own number and name, don't be a goof.
