Problem trading for Phil Kessel

Post by Mike_The_Strike »

Hi!

I don't know if it is the right place to post this messsage but anyway... I'va started a season with the Montreal Canadiens and I've made a trade with the Boston Bruins for Phil Kessel during training camp. The Bruins agreed to the trade and Kessel was on my team, but "unavailable for the next game". At the end of his tryout, he quit my team and go back to the Bruins! I wasn't even able to offer him a contrat when he was on my team because his rights were still held by the Bruins even after I got him in a trade. So in the end, Boston still got Kessel and all I gave them to get this young talent... I got screwed up nicely...

Is anybody knows why this happens? Is there a solution? Is it a bug in the game? Please help me!

That's odd. :-? Was he contracted with the Bruins when you first traded for him or was he still unsigned by them? Are you sure you didn't invite him to training camp rather than trade for him :dunno:

Check your trade history too. See what it says you have traded in and out.

Yeps, thats really strange!!!

From what I know, Kessel appears in the game as being a unsigned prospect from the B's and appears with "No team"!!!

From what I read it nearly seems that u have invited him to a try-out, but yes, u first have to have his rights to do so, right?? That would mean that u have traded for him (like u stated earlier), but its really strange that he goes back to the Bs after the try-out!!!
Do u have offered him a contract in that try-out period???

....strange thing...

Really Kessel should be appearing as signed by the B's, but probably SIGA couldnt make it because he was signed some days before the release date, I think!!!

I have traded for Phil Kessel and the Bruins accepted this trade ( offered 1st 2nd et 5th round 2007 draft picks). I Thought it was a steal. He has a contract with the Bruins: 450 000$ and was on a tryout with them. How could this be real?? No idea... But when a tried to offer him a contract, after the trade, I couldn't. The only options I had was: trade to get his rights, scout him and select him. (I don't know if these options are called like that in english because I have a french version. I've read somewhere that this problem should be fixed with the next patch, but with 3.0.1, it is not.

Does somebody know when this will be fixed? And how?

Thank you

Ah so the B's hadn't signed him but had just had him on a try-out. And then you made an offer whilst he was still on his try-out?

Due to license issues,SIGA weren't allowed to place a player in a NHL roster unless he played at least 1 NHL game. SO this year's rookies couldn't have been placed in their NHL teams. That's why you find them as free-agents at the start of the game.

I'm french, but play the game in english. So maybe i'll be able to help for some words if needed. ;)

For your problem, go to Kessel's history on his profile, and then on the "news" (instead of his "playing carreer"). You will have the date when he signed with the Bruins. So you will be able to see if he was signed before or after you made the trade. In any way, there's a problem with this transaction, but this will tell where is exactly the problem. (just a bug in the trades,or a big problem with unsigned prospects on training camps).

But as inSTAALed said, notice this on the SI forums,in the "bug report" forum. They are working on a patch,so it would be better if they fix all bugs ;)

No, I didn't get my picks back... very frustrating.

When I made the trade, he was on a tryout with the Bruins...

Just try by yourselves... just for fun, start a new game, simulate till training camp and do whatever it takes to grab Kessel from the Bruins...

By the way, I can't go on the SI forum because my email is on a black list... I can't connect myself. Why? I don't really know because this is the first time I participate in a forum on a video game. So if somebody can actually go on this forum (SI) and report the problem for me, it would be very appreciated.

Thank you.

Mike_The_Strike: SI forums don't allow hotmail or yahoo e-mail. If you have an other e-mail adress, try with this one (or create a new one, or you normally have one with your FAI).

If you really don't find any way to join them, come back and tell it here, and i'll report the bug for you ;)

Edit: it seems that aol free e-mail works... :)
