Finished draft, now what?

Post by trchop »

I just finished the 2015 draft, with some good picks I hope. However, what do I do now that I drafted the players?

Where/when do I see them in my roster? Do I still negotiate a contract with them? If so, where and when?

I was kind of hoping for a news message telling me who I drafted and what to do next, but it's end of october 2015 now and don't see the players on my roster, nor have I offered any contracts.

You have to offer them their ELCs obviously, you can see all your unsigned prospects if you go to your rosters -> filters -> unsigned prospects

When you draft a player it means you own the NHL rights to them. This means you have the exclusive right to sign that player and no other NHL team can sign them (unless your rights expire or you trade them to another team). But they won't sign for you unless you offer them a contract.

The same principle applies to the other drafts.

You can find your draftees under the transactions button on your roster screen: transactions - view - NHL Entry Draft
