Out of the top of my head:

- I always was annoyed that i have to send out my Scouts for the NHL Entry draft manually again and again and tha ti just cant Appoint them permanently to the Draft like with leagues. Also never was sure if the former search was delted when is sent them again. Id love to have scouts just Scout the draft permanently , one on the top players one for the lower rounds. Also woudl be nice if i could scout the other entry drafts (OHL etc) when Managing an NHL Team.

- Player devlopment Looks a lot better and more random now, i liek it already still i am having issues with the Overall System of a capped talent. I mean a Player basically is what he is, when he is good at soemthign already scouts will sse hes fast or is good techincally etc. Maybe a ceilign coudl be attached to physical attributes , a small Player will never be very strong

and a huge Player limited in agility- but i just dont liek the idea of a magical talent...in real life Players are seen as talented because they perform and their attributes impress ..theres nothing like a magical talent hidden somewhere ..in EHM you basically click through the scouting reports and look what the Player Projects ans singleout all that say the got lower talent. I like surprises and the fun is to find the diamond in the rough, ist a Little lame all palyers basically have their ceiling in place already from the beginning. It jsut feels a Little wrong t have the ffeling , well no matte rhow good my draft pick performs , the game has already decided he can only go this far . I like the Little News info my Players Show Progress and develop well, everytime i see it though jsut reminds me this will never Change theri potential to be a great Players just reach their predtermined Feeling faster. It also would make draftign a lot more fun, evaluating a Player much more, seeing well he has thsoe strenghts , those wekanesses, how could he develop those, is it good to devleop in his current league, etc instead of jsut looking at the scout Report an seeing: 1st line, 2nd line, 3rd line and exactl knowing where the Player can go.
Maybe for a first step it would be nice to have jsut a text description for the draft of the Players like it already exists with a little hitn as to how the Player might develop but not that set in stone. Of course the AI should also have some room for fauilure then and not just draft with the Overall knowledge of Potential.
What i am tring to say is: Why does everyone want Connor Mc David..because he is good NOW , no one woudl ever say well this palyer really lokks horrible at the Moment but trust me he has some hidden talent. You coudl say well he Looks talented because i like hsi techique and Vision and that is hard to teach, but that is jsut how the game should model this too. So i might draft a Player with good mental attributes or technique attributes and hope he develops techniques further and especially his physical attributes. But all potential i see in a Players is becuase i see what he already is and how he might develop. Some magical talent just seems wrong and boring.

-I would like some Pop up tooltips in the tactics menu that actually Show what the different tactics do, and what palyers are suited for them, basically the tactics tipps from the blueline ingame so i dont always have to look them up. All in all the tactics menu still seems clunky and not very accessable fornew players especially.

-Mid and end of season league coverage from leagues you select, an nice Little Screen for each league wit Player pcitures with favs for the numerous Awards and lists of scorers etc, so you Keep track of the hockey world. All in all more News and coverage from the world of your game overall. Maybe somethign like feauted stories of the month , showing a secific Player that made great Progress or something.
In General the Option to use more of the Players Pictures which most use in Screens all across the game , also Team colours and logos to give it a more in depth Feeling. Ist Little things often that suck you in , for example a grapical draft board with the Team logos on it , in the current years selection Slots, then a Kind of live draft...the clock ticks down and the board slowly unveisl the selected Player...then a little draft Card Pops up with the Players Picture , Basic info, strenghts weaknesses in text form any mabye grades, just like a hockeysfuture.com profile or something ..maybe Show his Awards already on the Card too. Sure i can click that info too, but it makes it Special to get those things "presented " to you in a graphical presentation, it just sucks you into the game world. Also a draft alert popping up during the live draft like in real life and the trade geting annuned on the pdium via a Little Pop up.

-"live" free agency: when UFA period starts there shoudl be a lot of more actual bidding going on, at the Moment it seems Teams jsut offer away ,and the palyer more or less randomly decides wehre to go. It would be much more fun to have Feedback how your offer compares to others , maybe a window for every Player with the number of current offers, and soem info like: At the Moment 5 Teams are interestd in my Player" Your offer is one of the best financially , but my Client may give a Little hoemtown Discount to another Team. He also finally wants a Cup and doesnt see the Chance with your Team..and actually put those pros and cons into the game..soem palyers might prefer smaller market and less pressure some the Spotlight and big market, some might go for a promise of a spot higer in the lineup , some prefer a competitve atmosphere with a Team. Maybe some have favourite Teams , maybe for some success and a shot at a Cup might get more important over years. maybe some might identity with a Team they have played a career with and built a Special bond more and take a Discount. All those Little things wouldnt be too complicated to Programm (easy to say hehe but harder to do i know) and add a lot of atmosphere and reality.

I wish and it would be great if as GM need to answer multiple question from media just like FM did.

1 more thing, I would like if we can talk to our own player regarding anythings especially their poor performance rather only diciplined them. It much works using talking method like FM did.

Thanks

I wish there is an option to ask a player to waive his NTC politely so i dont have to discipline a player to waive his NTC lol.

A couple of more requests...

-NCAA prospects game
-accelerated attribute increases when a player performs well in a big tournament (World Juniors, Memorial Cup, Stanley Cup etc.). or after winning a major award or after getting continuous praise from multiple sources. Essentialy rewarding the player for bringing their game to the next level in clutch/spotlight situations.

It would be awesome to be able to set zone start percentages in the tactics. There are certain lines(C's and defensemen specifically) that I don't want taking faceoffs in my zone. It would be great to control which lines take the bulk of D and O zone starts.

Historical leagues. Original six, etc. and a start date that reflects this. I know it probably won't happen, but a guy can have a wishlist at least.

One thing i hope to see in the next update is the Draft Lottery to be fixed. As of now it's broken in the sense that teams finishing in places like 18th and 29th are winning way more than they should be. Most recently i simulated 20 draft lotteries and the 18th place team won 6 times. The 29th team won 10 times. The other 4 times were other random teams. Not once did the 30th place team win the lottery. That's a mathematical improbability.

I haven't read the whole thread, still only have 2007, but I do have FM13, and these are features (if not in EA already) that I'd like to see:

1. Tactics familiarity. A great feature of FM13 where between practice and game time players get more or less comfortable with a style of play. Especially with a graphic representation of how well that's going.

2. An FM style deadline day.

3. I'd like to see the captain selection look more like FM (I know it's requested to be out of tactics) and a more permanent selection. Changing captains should impact your players and staff.

4. An editor to the FM level. In FM13 I can add any league I want relatively easy. If I want to have an Aruban hockey league, make it possible to have a playable one! (On that note, at least in FM13 the hardcoding still was there, you couldn't really edit the US that much without it crashing)

5. Strong features for historical databases. I would like to go back to '72 and be able to at least set up pre-game all the future expansions and relocations. In a great world, the rise and demise of leagues, but truthfully I'd just be happy enough if I could set up expansion.

6. Be able to fully redo a league. Let's say I want to make the top American leagues have promotion and relegation, no draft, and teams in Mexico. I would like to be able to do that (Don't get me wrong, not my #1 list of how I want to play, but I don't want to be limited in that regard. This is where FM13 let me down when I tried to make a large American soccer pyramid.)

7. Contracts/ownership of affiliates. Currently, I think almost all of the AHL affiliates are owned by NHL clubs. Then, give the NHL club that kind of control. If that's not the case, have the 2-3 year contract where at the end your ECHL affiliate expires, and you can find a new one.

Outside of #1 most of these I see as long term, maybe even EHM 2016 ideas, but I think #1 (even if it's on the back end and just needs displayed to the user) to be key.

Can't wait for payday...

Players really need to ask for longer contracts. Everyone wants 1-2 year deals. Off ELC even superstars want 2 years at 1.8m. I know you can overpay for more years, etc, but that's not the point

Yeah i agree. Some players should be asking for longer contracts. You get a superstar in his prime. He should be asking for more than a 2-3 year deal. 5+ years is more realistic

It's probably been said ....

- pre-game Editor to setup your desired leagues, structure etc to make fantasy leagues possible
- ingame editor to modify current saved game issues
- League structure wizard during the season to allow expansion, contraction and team relocations ... perhaps an automated option to this as well
- preset historical rules (ie choose 1940 and you get 1940 financials and rule sets)

I've mentioned this before and i will continue to until they actually put it into the game but we need Wild Card Standings in the NHL. It makes it so much easier to comprehend the playoff races. Not to mention it's a lot more visually pleasing to the eyes. I can't be the only one that wants this. Speak up boys so we can get this in there :)

I was thinking about how it would be nice to be able to choose extra PK players. When I get a guy in the box that usually play on the PK, how does the game choose who to play in his place?

Yeah that would be cool. I noticed that also.

I mean I just do them in my head... top 3 from each div, then the best 2 after that.

But yes a actual Wildcard simplification look would be nice.

Yes that would be good, especially since the 9 times out of 10 I get scored on when on PK it is when one of my PK guys is in the box and someone from the other unit kills the whole penalty and gets exhausted.

Also would be good to have 3 or 4 PK units since they do in real life.

- Sound options to allow for muting or lowering volume of crowd noise, music, etc.

- Fewer 10 minute misconduct penalties

- Ability to interact with players a la FM.

Haven't read the whole thread so this may have already been posted but i would like the option to expand leagues, or at least the NHL.
Swedish Hockey League has expanded their league from 12 to 14 teams from next season so it would be nice to have the option to remove and add teams to the leagues.

Ps. And i want the Nordiques back in the NHL, even if it's just in EHM...

When a player retires or becomes a coach, it'd be cool if their player profile was still available.

That takes up a fair bit of space in the game. Makes it run slower as guys retire, and that is why it is not there. But yes, it would be cool.

Maybe an option to "tag" players that one wants to preserve?
