i assume a players role would effect what states develop more/quicker but i am not sure what role develops what
for example whats the difference between a skilled forward and a flashy forward? or a playmaking forward?
is there any kind of list of the different roles and how they effect players development?
or do they even effect anything?
how do player roles effect development?

Re: how do player roles effect development?
We do not really know at this time in the game. Player roles have not been fully implemented yet. We believe it will mean that some areas (those important to the role) the players will develop, but in other areas where they are not strong....they will not develop as much. This way we will not see the 20s across the board for guys like Ovechkin. Hopefully, it will allow us to make players more what they are...like cap levels of defensive ability for guys like Semin without hurting offensive ability too much.

Hopefully they'll ensure that offensive centres(and all of them) are still good at faceoffs - this seems to be listed as a defensive stat!

THere are many many crossovers in EHM, but I am sure that is one that will be looked at. Not like they are going to make Jonathon Toews Ryan Kesler or Ryan Getzlaf bad at faceoffs. Maybe not 20s but pretty darn good I would expect.

Re: how do player roles effect development?
I was quite surprised, although Centres are mostly more two-way players than forwards I don't do a huge amount of defensive work on them, tending to mould them as playmakers, but faceoffs getting missed would be a huge issue (and do D-men really need to be good at them? I don't think they ever take them?)

It would be a big miss to leave out faceoffs for centres with the new player roles but I am sure Riz thought about that
