Looking at the preview before a game and it says that my biggest star is Cory Conacher. ](*,)

Okay, so I'll post my trades too. May not be the best deals, but I think they should fit the rules.

In the Hamhuis trade you trade for the rights of a player which is not allowed in the rules, just write to b72 and he'll sort out how to fix it...

 I thought I removed the rights from the trade. Okay, I'll write a PM to him and release the rights if necessary

Pre season done and i've decided on my squad, still not sure about the lines... Ended up sending Clendenning, Tierney, Horvat and Jensen back down to Utica because i want them to have alot of ice time.

Just finished game #14 against the Islanders. Clearly the ref had a bug up his butt. He gave the Islanders 11pp opportunities to my 3. I still managed to pull out a win in the shootout.

I don't think you quite understood these rules of the challenge. You were supposed to trade ONLY those players that were listed in the challenge post. Everyone else (those younger than 29) have to remain on your team.

That will do it but it will also decrease their trade value, in my experience.

I can't wait until the end of this season for two reasons (especially if I keep going the way I'm going):

1. I can finally trade Markstrom. He's had some really, really bad games and whenever I say something to him about it, he becomes unhappy.

2. Jakob Chychrun.

I've been unhappy with both Markstrom and Lack so far. ](*,)

I'm with you on that one. I'll be focusing on a starting goalie during my end of the season trades.

Lack was doing alright with a minor injury to Markstrom. Then he puts up a 7 goal performance and gets waived lol...

Okay, after making a complete new start due to a few mistakes I made referring to the rules, my trades look like this:

And my draft picks like this:

I hope this time I got it all right

I have a question.

I'm in January right and can negotiate new contracts. Can I start offering contracts to players who are in the final year of their existing contracts now, or do I have to wait until the end of the season to do that?

I currently have 4 players on the main roster who I know I cannot offer contracts to, but I was wondering about the others who I can keep past this season.

Lol at all the different trades. So cool. Some common names out there but live that mine are so different from all else I see. Gotta say b72 your team looks solid. Love your deals.

Those who dealt with Oilers Flames Hawks and Bruins are bad boys. Not brad Boyes.

I like my moves but I am not sure my team will be as strong as some comes season 3 as I dealt for Zero picks.

You can offer contracts to your existing players however you want after the first season starts, you don't have to keep getting rid of your older players during the whole challenge, just at the start.

batdad - Yeah, really fun to see everyone making different deals... Didn't really want to trade with Oilers but that Klefbom trade i got was just too good to pass up :P

Who can't you offer deals to? You can re sign any of your players and you can do it whenever you want.

At the end of this season any players aged 28 or older have to be traded. The players that I have who either 28 or will be 28 by the end of the season and without a contract are:

Eddie Lack
Derek Dorsett
Will Acton
Shawn Matthias

If I can sign them, so I can trade them before the draft then that would be great. I just want to make sure I understand all the rules.

No, re-read the rules. At the end of season one any player over 28 MAY be traded, they don't have to be traded.

Ohhhh. Thanks for the clarification. I thought this challenge would be hard if you had to keep bringing in younger players that you drafted all the time.
