Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
I'm currently in the 4th quarter of season 1. The best I'm hoping for is doing better than the projected 20 wins, but I don't think that will happen. Derek Dorsett has been suspended now 4 times for a total of 10 games.

Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
This sounds very similar to my game. I'm losing so many games by a goal or it's even until the last period and then my guys collapse.Peter_Doherty wrote:First quarter done, this is actually going worse then i expected... 2-17-1, less then optimalThe annoying part is that most losses are 1-goal games...
Atleast i have some things going for me, Kreider-Bjugstad is playing great on my first line, Kreider is 10+9 while Bjugstad is 7+10. Conacher is also doing good with 15 points, Bonino has 12 and Sanguinetti (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) has 11. Rest of the team is doing OK considering expectations, except for my 6th D where i alternate Olsen and Sbisa, both are useless. Acton was also useless so he's benched now, i should probably get Tierney or Jensen up from AHL but i'm going with McMillan instead since this season is over anyways![]()
Neither Markström or Läck can save a beach ball but i'll give them time, think the biggest problem is that the entire team just isn't ready for this, their play might (hopefully) get better as the team gets better.

coolwolf you can put anyone on waivers or release players whenever you want. You can send them down to ahl after waivers if they require it.

Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
If you waive a player and they get claimed, you lose out on them. It's allowed. If possible, I'd just keep that player on my roster until you're allowed to trade for the second season. You could use that player (Sbisa in your case) as your one non-veteran trade that you're allowed for the season.coolwoff wrote:Got another question how does it work when i want to send players from my pro roster to ahl team and they get claimed??? Is it allowed or not?Like for example Luca Sbisa

Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
Time to post my line-up for the first season ...
Bärtschi - Nugent-Hopkins - Jensen
Conacher - Bonino - Kassian
McMillan - Acton - Vey
Shinkaruk - Horvat - Virtanen
Stanton - Tanev
Klefbom - Sbisa
Biega - Weber
Eriksson - Läck
My coaching staff has only slightly been changed after an assistant coach retired.
Condition / Skating : Melanson, Takahashi
Goalie coach: Shtalenkov (yes, the former Mighty Ducks' keeper as he has 20 and 19 in working with youngsters)
Offensive : Gulutzan
Defensive : Joel Otto / Dallas Eakins
My goal is to achieve at least a .250 rating with this roster

I've made progress! The board is no longer extremely unhappy with my performance. Now they're just a little disappointed!

Loving this challenge so far. Only in pre season, but from what I read, having the ownership only slightly upset is the bestest thing ever. Knew it would be. Training camp has been interesting..... Linden Vey? 3-5-8 in his first 4 ex games. then nothing in game 5. Was told he was really going banana good in training camp after every intrasquad game. He had at least 2 points in all of them. So we shall see. Linden can you keep it up? Yeah, right

Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
No, Vey stinks up the joint!
I don't usually let my draft picks play right away. Almost all of them need to spend a more time in juniors and then usually some time in the minors. There are very few that are ready for the NHL right away. In the later rounds I do tend to draft some 19 and 20 year olds with the intention of filling out my AHL roster.

Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
The first weeks are gonna be horrible. Lost Nugent-Hopkins (2 weeks), Conacher (7 days) and Bärtschi (10 days) right in the first game, that's a big handicap to live with. Eriksson is a very inconstant goalie, having a 10 and a 9 in the first games to have a 4 and a 5 in the following ones. Läck is not much better, doing a 5 performance at losing in overtime after leading 4-0 in 34th minute...
Seems to get quite difficult to reach my goal of .250 rating

Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
OMG started off season 2-0-0. Beat Edmonton 5-3 and Anaheim 5-0.
Nelson 2-1-3
Kassian 2-0-2 (2 fights as well won both)
Vey 1-1-2
Bonino 1-1-2
Sanguinetti 0-2-2
Lineup looks like this (Scheiffle had a horrible preseason so off he went to farm and I have kept 8 dmen for now.
Nelson-Bonino-Conacher
Barstchi-Rakell-Jensen
Morin-O'Reilly-Kassian
McMillan-Matthias-Vey
Dorsett
Dillon-Trouba
Stanton-Clendenning
Sbisa-Sanguinetti
Weber-Tanev
Marskstrom
Lack
(although it was Lack with the SO against Anaheim, and he had better preseason numbers. He may end up stealing the job.
Scheiffle likely will not be long on farm, just wanted to see who i should keep on blueline --- Sanguinetti (waiver eligible) or Clendenning (Not waiver eligible). Problem is they are BOTH playing well whereas the guys I know will get claimed--Tanev, Weber, Sbsisa were my three worst in preseason, and are so far in reg season as well.
Playing Vey at C on PP on 1st unit, and then next game on RW on 2nd unit. He has a PPG and PPA so far. LOL

You only post screenshots after the season, so you know... you add your stats every 20 games on the site...coolwoff wrote:Had a very good start but then baertschi and folin got injured and boom losing streak started, post screenshots now

Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
Just add the info where it should be added instead
There is a separate thread for end-season screenshots aswell, you should probably re-read the rules thoroughly one more time, you seem a little lost
