I love that Detroit deal. I wanted Mantha but never got a deal that worked for me.

I also tried to get Mantha but i went for more quantity over quality and didn't want to sacrifice more then 2 players in one deal.

Funny, I never even took more than a cursory look at the Wings re Mantha. I dunno, I guess Wings dealing off their young guys made no sense to me. Probably should have looked at him though considering Morin sucks worse than Conacher.

1-2-3 in 23 games and was getting all 5 and 6 ratings on my 1st and 2nd lines. At least Conacher has a few goals and 7 ratings.

In 40 games Conacher is tied with Sbisa for a team-worst -30 plus-minus. ](./images/smilies/wallbash.gif)

For me he is 11+7 in 22 games, started out slow but then i switched lines around and moved him to the 2nd PP-unit and he exploded.

Game 41 is my turning point. I just had a 6-3 win over the Avs. My team is going to start clicking now.

In my game he has nearly similar stats. In 26 games he has 6-11-17, but a -8.

Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
And I won the next game 4-2 over the Wild!
It's funny. I went with a more risky, offensive game and my team is performing better both offensively and defensively (so far). Before, my goalies were set to stay in the crease. Now they're allowed to play the puck. I also had most of my defensemen (except those with some offensive talent) set to not join the rush. Now they're okay to join the rush. These 2 moves have resulted in both my goalies and defensemen getting better game ratings.

Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
I actually changed my settings even more defensive and safe on my d-men and also made some of my forwards a bit more defensive, suddenly 2 wins in a row!
I also promoted Tierney to the NHL as my 3rd line C, seems like that stabilized the team somewhat aswell. Had a double motive with that as i wanted Horvat and Cassels to get more ice time in Utica, win/win

I never thought I'd be excited about this, but...I'm only 4 points out 13th spot in the conference and 29th overall...WHOOHOO!!!

Looking at the challenge stats I was 3 games under .500 in the 2nd quarter. I'd say that's a pretty good improvement.

bruins72 wrote:Nope. No RFAs from other teams. You're only allowed to sign your own players.

The rules state:
"Once July 1st comes around you're allowed to hire and fire non-playing staff freely. Put the staff that you want in place. Find staff that work well with youngsters so that you'll be able to develop all of these young players you have. Find good scouts for the coming years. Going in to season 1 (the 2015-2016) season, you can sign any of your prospects that you like but you are not allowed to sign any UFAs. You're also not allowed to make waiver claims. You won't be able to make any more moves in this first season. Play it out and develop your young players."
That should change to "you are not allowed to sign any UFAs or other teams' RFAs."

Yeah likely should, and we know you are new, but if you had looked around everywhere on this site, you would see the intent of the challenges and specifically this one. The intent is to make things hard. Going out and signing FAs from other teams no matter what type they are...makes it easy.

Yeah, I follow now. Fortunately for me, I wasn't too far in --only at July 14, so it won't take long to get back there.batdad wrote:Yeah likely should, and we know you are new, but if you had looked around everywhere on this site, you would see the intent of the challenges and specifically this one. Yeah, I guess we need to spell that out for the new folks. We've never allowed any offer sheets in our challenges.

Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
Sent Tierney back down to Utica after 8 games, 1 assist -4 and 6.14 Av. R in 8 games is just not good enough, i need someone to step up in that 3C role. In good news Girgensons woke up after i moved him up to the first line, had Kassian up there to start the season but Bonino was too good to have in the 3rd line so i swapped things around a bit and it's been better since.
Edit: I'm noticing that personal tactics stay even after they are scratched or injured for a few games, didn't notice that fix in the patch notes, i love it!

Personal tactics worked this way in EHM2007 too. They'd stick around until you assigned personal tactics to a few more players.Peter_Doherty wrote: Edit: I'm noticing that personal tactics stay even after they are scratched or injured for a few games, didn't notice that fix in the patch notes, i love it!

So for season 2 the start of the season is july first? We can trade anyone that will be 28 by July 1st on June 15th? or is the start of the new season later then July 1st?

Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
I have personal tactics on all my players and they seem to stick, they didn't stick during the Flyers challenge, never had them stick for a player that was scratched over 10 games before now with Sbisa.bruins72 wrote:Personal tactics worked this way in EHM2007 too.
