That's what I was wondering. Couldn't find the game itself in my registry obviously. So I was right. I'm totally off target here. Sorry about that. Just delete it then. Where is the game located in the registry? I could only come up with
this finding of the game even though searching and searching. but it was meant to be for the game itself.
And would it be a possible solution to the game itself for some people. The "Edit" thing made me wonder and doubt what I was doing, that's why I wrote to move it if I was totally of track. The last thing i want to do is doing anything bad for the game or community...
I don't want to misguide people. And I did hope you would comment on this as you are the Guru on the subject if it's at all possible.
archibalduk wrote:The instructions you posted are for the Pre Game Editor rather than EHM. Is that what you intended?
Not really. It was meant to be for the game itself. So maybe you should take it off if it has no purpose at all. As I mentioned in another post, you are the Guru on these things with hex and stuff and I don't want to misguide anybody to
something that basically is useless.
My game was working just fine in windowed mode. Then yesterday for whatever reason I opened my computer and the laptop's screen resolution was 1024x768, I reverted it back to the recommended 1366x768 and now Eastside Hockey Manager is messed up. I can no longer play in windowed mode and I keep getting the error message that other people in this thread are having.
Any solutions?
Would resetting the preferences do anything? Windowed mode was working perfectly fine (with the black bars on the sides) until yesterday. Do I reset my computer's graphics settings? Or would that have consequences on other games?
Edit: I just checked and I can't play windowed mode on ANY resolution my computer has to offer. I don't know what to do and I hate the stretched out full screen look.
I did some digging on other game forums and I have found a solution for those with intel graphics cards.
Right click on your desktop and click screen resolution. Change the resolution to 1024x768 (EHM's resolution) and then click advanced settings. Once you're in the Intel graphics panel you should see that your screen is set to full screen, change this to the adjust to screen function and you're all set.
Does anyone actually have a working 'full-screen' mode? Rven before it crashes, it isn't actually filling the full screen and has black space either side.
I had been successfully running EHM in full screen 1366x768. I went to play yesterday and noticed the game default to borderless windowed mode. When I attempted to change it back to full screen, the only option I get for resolution is 1024x768. Is this a bug or is there a fix to get "true" fullscreen back? My understanding was that this was fixed in an update and that everyone should be able to have a fullscreen experience....

Also having this issue. Swapped to windowed mode as some graphics weren't displaying, and now can't turn it back to full-screen?
Has anybody tried running the game on 4K and/or using the scaling options in Windows? I'm weighing up whether to go with a 1920 x 1080 or a 4k screen for my next laptop. The 4k has various advantages (apparently the 1080 panel I'm looking at has some ghosting issues) and so I'm leaning towards 4k. However, I'm worried the game will be the size of a postage stamp if I run it in windowed mode at a 4k resolution!
In answer to my question above regarding 4k displays: EHM does indeed run fine on a 4k display but it does suffer from mildly blurry text (but not as bad as other non-4k native software). The alternative is to disable scaling when loading Steam but this means both Steam and EHM are tiny. The maximum resolution EHM supports is 1920x1080 which is still very small on a 4k screen - so using scaling is the best option.
So I have a 2 screen setup and I just changed my small monitor(which had Adam Oates resolution) to a bigger TV (I believe 1080i) and I can't select 1080p on EHM anymore. I only have 1024x768, 1280x768 and 1366x768. I tried putting my tv that I didn't change (1080p) as my main monitor but no luck there, EHM still opens on my new tv. Is there a way to force EHM to open in 1080p windowed or to open on a certain monitor?
Have you tried using the borderless window setting in EHM?
As for forcing it to load on a specific screen, you could try looking at any software/settings which are installed with your GPU (e.g. NVidia Control Panel). Perhaps there will be some per application settings there.
I am using borderless window and I somehow managed to make it open on my other screen but it didn't fix my resolution issues... Should I try uninstalling and redownloading?
I have an older 4:3 aspect ratio LCD monitor that natively supports 1280x1024 resolution. However, EHM1 will only allow me to play at 1024x768 in full screen mode....how can I trick EHM into allowing 1280x1024 in full screen mode?

Other than 1024x768, looks like EHM1 only supports wide screen resolutions.
Here they are,
1024x768
1280x768
1366x768
1440x900
1920x1080
...too bad as it would look great in 1600x1200 resolution, on an older 4:3 monitor.
Yes I think that's right. Your best bet is to use a windowed mode which uses as much of your resolution as possible. The game allows the window border to be disabled in order to help where the selected resolution is a tight fit in windowed mode (e.g. where trying to fit 1280x768 windowed on a 1280x1024 screen).

I just upgraded to a 32" 4k desktop monitor when my 1080 died. The problem with 4k is that the text doesn't scale up. The text is the same size (tiny) running at 1920x1080 or 1024x768. Data fields expand but the text stays the same. It actually looks a little better in 1024x768 as info is grouped better.
I won't have access to my laptop until tomorrow night, so this is from memory: Try locating you EHM exe, right-click and click on Properties. On the Compatibility tab there should be a HiDPI drop down menu. Try each setting and then running the game. One of these fixed it for me. The game will think it is running at a lower resolution but it'll all scale up.

hate to bump an old thread, but I just want to say that this seems to have worked for me. Specifically, the "reduced color mode", with an 8-bit option. so for anyone looking in the future, definitely try this
I have a strange problem. When I play offline in windowed or borderless mode, the game crashes after a couple minutes, despite what resolution I try. The only way I can get the game going fine is by playing in full screen.
The strange thing is that when I play online, there is no problems with the windowed or borderless window mode. So I guess there is some kind of problem with my game as I´m not the host of the online game.
What resolution(s) have you tried? I know the game struggles with small screen resolutions. IIRC you need a minimum of 1024 vertical pixels to play in borderless mode.

I'm running on two 1920*1080 monitors, so I've tried every possible resolution in game except window mode 1920*1080 as that one need more than 1920*1080 to run. So everything from 1024*768 too 1440*900 in windowed mode and up till 1920*1080 in borderless window mode.
No matter what resolution I try, it crashes -except in full screen where everything works fine.
I wonder if having two monitors is causing an issue with EHM. That's just a guess as I can't think of anything else which might result in a crash based on other issues people have encountered with EHM resolutions.
That could be a problem. I've tried playing on my 13" laptop and are facing the same problems on there, so there's something strange going on. I'll have to continue the troubleahooting.
I've not had this problem before though and I've had this setup for atleast 4 years until it started a couple weeks ago.
EDIT: The problem now seems to be gone. I switched on "Background images" again and it worked like a charm. Strange.
