I'd love to help, because I thought I was a mastermind when it comes to training my team, but I think I'm finding out that I'm not so good... because from what I hear from other members at the SIforums, I am way underworking my team. I usually use 1 intense, 4 medium, and 1 light, but I just found out that some people use around 3 intensives, and 3 mediums.
Besides that, I have my whole training broken down by position, and each of them train on skills that are most important to that position. For example, my 'Wingers' is hard on Offense and Shooting... 'Center' is hard on Offense and Defense, etc. And with them, I often change things up, like bringing one of then Intensives down to a medium, and something else up to an Intensive. I also switch all my guys to 'General' practice every once in a while so they can catch up on the stuff they normally wouldn't get much of in their positional training.
That's really all I can say for now.

Having a specific skill work for specific position, like the Offense and Shooting for Wingers you use, is not a good approach at all. If your winger is a checking forward, what the hell will he work offense and shoot??? He would mainly have to work on his strength: his defensive skills!
As i'm writing the guide along with Archi, i can't tell you more at once about practice. Once this section of the guide will be done, i will give some more detailed advices and personnal tips
But actually i just can't talk about it
But don't complain too much, because as i write the guide, i can't play as often as you do guys!
In the Tactics guide, it's said to focus on your strengths when you choose your tactics... So, in a logical way, practicing on your strengths will make you stronger on specific points, so your tactics will run better... That's the only advice i can give actually...
B. Stinson: yes, some use 3 intensive and 3 mediums... That's the way i do... But i'm not allowed yet to say how and where i found this
So everyone has to make some tries actually...
