ECHL Salary Cap Not Functional

Post by Kcoyote3 »

So I wanted to start with an ECHL team and work my way up through AHL and eventually to the NHL as a GM. However after having played a season through the ECHL with the Orlando Solar Bears, I have come to realize the salary cap is messed up. The cap is set at 12.5k, while the floor is 270k. This means that every team in the ECHL thinks they're over the salary cap at all times, making trades impossible (even when players have equal salaries, both teams will have the standard "financial concerns" and not do the deal), and also making ANY sort of free agent signing completely impossible. A player will be asking for a contract of 12,000 a year, and the board will allow.....0 dollars. For every player, and every role defined by me. It's ridiculous. So I am trying desperately to find a job with an AHL club, but the board is becoming more and more disapproving of me because it thinks I'm way over the salary cap. Anyways, has anyone else tried to play in the ECHL or have heard of this?

It is an issue with the transfer_rules_config. It should be the weekly cap, but the game thinks it is the yearly cap.
You can open the file and remove it, but you need to restart your save

Thank you for the reply, is there a specific pathing to find the file? Also, is this an issue with other leagues?

You'll need to edit the EHM07 database (the file is in the database folder), and then import that edited DB into EHM:EA

I don't know how many other Leagues have a Salary Cap...but I haven't noticed such issues posted about the NHL Salary Cap (or any other really, just the ECHL)

IIRC- it worked fine any every other DB I've used except the one for the challenge. Not sure if it's a 7.4 error.

So if I just delete that file, does it remove all salary caps? Will it make other portions of the game unusable? Sorry, fairly new to all of this and I'm loving this game for the past 200 hours I've played it, just wanted a new challenge.

I wouldn't delete the file
Open the file using Notepad or something similar (right click, select Open with...)
Then just delete the line relating to the ECHL, save and close...and then import the DB and start a new game
