Player stats

On the player profile at the bottom it will have season stats and playoff stats and another category for other. I assumed that was for international competition but i see plenty of players who play the whole season with their nhl team then play in the playoffs for them yet they have games played on this stat line. Just wondering what it represents. Now that i think about it i think it's pre-season.
