Scoring is way down. Simulated through 10 seasons, and only two times, the art ross winner had more than 100 points. Tarasenko with 102 points in 2016/2017 (50+52) and in 2019/2020, 101 points. It seems like just because Benn last season won the Art ross with 87 points, the game is set to have way to low scoring and point producing. For example Pat kane is on his way to a 118 point season right now.

In my save (15+ seasons) there were 8 times that players who won Art Ross have had at least 100 pts. Three times more than 110 pts.

Yeah, but only if he keeps up his current form throughout the season. Also, if you look at last season's numbers, no one went to 90 points, and the season before that only Crosby reached 100, everyone else were at 80-something. I'm quite happy with the level of scoring in my game, where for the last three seasons the top scorer has gone just barely above 90.

I can definitely see this better than ehm 2007, where the leading scorer had 130-160 points. But also in ten seasons only one time, did a player reach 50 goals( earlier mentioned Tarasenko) I dont know if it simulates diffrently with full detail or with quick sim? Also seems to me that especially young players (especially goalies) have a hard time coming into the league. after 5 years it is still the same goalies dominating the player stats.

I'm in 2025 and I have to admit, 5 of the 6 goalies in the All Star Game were 35 or above, or close to, but then again, those are based on reputation. I did see a lot of good younger goalies too, when I looked to trade for a good back up next to my Holtby. I wouldn't say there aren't younger good goalies available, it's just that goalies tend to stay on the top longer in the game than the regular players. Like for example, I had Lundqvist playing awesome until he was 40, and would've eagerly offered him one more one year extension, had he accepted one.

I'm not sure if this is where I should post this, so apologies if this is the wrong thread.

One thing I've stumbled upon that's been an issue/bug, has been how the game handles certain US hockey prospects. Every year there's a few US based prospects, that for some reason or another don't get any NCAA offers, when they're 18 (or even older). This puts the GM in a tough spot, as if they don't have CHL rights, your only option is a lower level Jr. league (USHL), or the pros (NHL, AHL, ECHL).

These players, especially if they're good enough to get drafted, should be getting NCAA offers left, right and centre before their 18 year old season. It's very rare for players to get drafted into the NHL from the USHL, and go back to the USHL, without a NCAA commitment. Secondly, there are players like Clayton Keller and Kieffer Bellows, who play on the US NTDP U18 team for 3+ seasons, even when they're 18/19 years old. I assume it's because they play in the USHL, a U20 league, but are a U18 team. Either way they should be transitioning to the NCAA at 18. I think it may be a database bug, as in previous databases this would occur with more players (Bracco, Jones, Tkachuk, before all were moved to the CHL).

It's just something I've noticed and wanted to pass along. Cheers.

The AI is still pretty dumb: Sean Monahan going first overall in a fantasy draft, and Graham Knott going 6th, is ludicrous. Or maybe the owners are total cheapskates or trying to tank.

I tried the fantasy draft for the first time and it was interesting, some players seem to go way out of sequence, but then the AI can see future potential so maybe these guys have been gifted 200PA on my game.
Really the player needs to see scout reports for the draft. I wanted to build a team for the future but was forced to pick good current players as that's all I can see. I probably still did better than I should have.

Trading is still a little off, particularly between AI teams (a rubbish prospect and two low picks for Giroux? Yes please! Oh, I'm not allowed? But you let the AI have him....)

Signing players is still bad - if they're on 20k a year at some European league I think a million and a chance to win a cup at a top team might turn their heads! Yet they demand several million and even if you offer what they ask for they refuse, before signing for a worse team for less money.
These two issues might be AI boosting, lord knows their prospects seem to jump up ridiculously as well.

3vs3 OT doesn't work. Can't select the players to put out and most games go to shootout anyway. Marginally more games are going to OT at a little over 27%, but a massive 66.5% are going to shootout. Last time I checked in real life only around 30% of 3vs3 games are going to shootout.

To be honest, apart from 3vs3 I'm not sure these are new problems that weren't in EA. I do like it, I've played it way too much since EA first came out.

AI seems to be a hard thing to do for games -- even big money game houses have trouble, or don't have the interest or time and money to develop proper AI that could compete with the human player. Many strategy games I like to play suffer from that as well. But slow improvements is the way this goes, I suppose.

I'm starting to think the trade AI has got worse. I've reached that time where the cup chasing teams trade away picks/prospects for current gen players to bring them the cup.
Trouble is they're trading masses of franchise players and high picks for fairly average rated players, largely 3rd/4th liners. I'm not saying those guys aren't good or useful, but to me it looks like they're being way overvalued. Heck I'm right up there, but for these kind of offers I'll trade half my team this year, and have a dynasty for a decade!

Are we looking at an update anytime soon or was that it? It's been like 6 weeks.

I think the promise for update every two weeks was for the Early Access stage. Now it's a fully released game and updates come in a non-regular basis, like any other PC game.

There was certainly a mention of Riz working on CHL, (right?), so you'd assume there'd be at least one more. Some bugs and crashes are still reported, so would be great to get rid of those as well.

All I know is that this update contains a fix to the slow game clock issue. So the sooner it comes the better.

I can't wait to see what else it brings!

You're welcome! And now today Riz has given some insight into what's coming by posting "There will be a few new features in the next update and a lot of bug fixes and adjustments to the AI and UI across the game. Based on the changelist alone, it will be the biggest single update for the game so far (starting from when we went into Early Access)" http://community.sigames.com/showthread ... pdate-date

It's always exciting seeing a huge update coming

I'm hoping a fix for unemployment is on the list; I've had to put EHM on hold for the time being.

Riz made a number of posts on the HF EHM Board yesterday http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/showt ... 05&page=37

Here's what he said.....

"The initial player pool of young players is pretty good for prospects in the next upcoming draft, but the next few drafts are likely to have less talent as there isn't enough quality player data to recycle from retiring players yet for the early drafts. This aspect has been adjusted for the next update, so that the game creates extra newgens as future draft classes at the start of the game, to help populate the early drafts with more talent. These adjustments obviously only affect new games started after the updated has been applied.
Young player development with the top potential youngsters has not always been as good as it could have been, leading to the top prospects in the drafts not being as ready to go pro as their real life counterparts. This has been also adjusted for the next update and will also affect existing saved games"

"Apologies for the lack of updates since the Dec 1 release, but obviously there was a period of holidays around Christmas and New Year when a lot of the staff at SI typically take some time off to spend time with families etc.
We have been working on the next update based on the feedback so far and it will be quite a big update. I haven't got an exact date to give but it should be quite soon now."

"We had the bi-weekly update cycle during the Early Access period, but to be brutally honest, working on two projects at the same time with one having a deadline for an update every other week was kind of rough. Especially with the FM release cycle hitting later in the year as well.
So obviously the update intervals will be longer now, but the updates will be bigger. We will still be doing smaller hotfixes when necessary as well."

Will the update fix some of the bugs? Got into my 3rd season and RFA's no longer work, there's no required salary showing when you offer a contract, and even if you offer one that would qualify them, it doesn't work.
I'm reluctant to continue playing a save where all my young talent is stuck on "needs a qualifying offer".
