No age restrictions for arriving players, only nationality/place of birth?

Re: Next Challenge?
Quick idea, maybe have us play on an internal cap budget (something around $60-$64m?) to make it a bit more of a challenge. If you can spend all the way up to the cap it's usually pretty easy after a while.

Re: Next Challenge?
Honestly, since the age restriction was included for TBL challenges, I hardly reach at least cap floor with my teams.. So, why not

Re: Next Challenge?
Nope. I don't think we'll need it with the nationality restriction in place, it should make it difficult enough.sao.phim wrote:No age restrictions for arriving players, only nationality/place of birth?
That's an idea. We'll just need to have everyone include a finances screenshot with the other yearly screenshots.Peter_Doherty wrote:Quick idea, maybe have us play on an internal cap budget (something around $60-$64m?) to make it a bit more of a challenge. If so, then we need a very good guide on how to play in the KHLKopi wrote:hello guys,

Re: Next Challenge?
I agree with Manimal. I'd say that the vast majority of people here have never played with the KHL and really wouldn't know the ins and outs of it. A comprehensive guide to playing in the KHL would need to be written first.

Someone would still need to write up a comprehensive guide detailing the ins and outs of that league.Kopi wrote:hmm well, since you are from Sweden Manimal then maybe SELWould just try something out of NHL ...

Not only that but I'd think you've done more than your fair share of things for TBL. Somebody else could sure do a guide.

Re: Next Challenge?
I'd like to pitch an idea:
In spirit of the modern NHL's youth, the U23 Challenge:
Fantasy Draft, any team. Serpentine, w/ prospects. Return draft picks to original teams.
-- All players must be 23 or younger at the TIME OF ARRIVAL to team.
-- Only players 23 or younger may be resigned.
-- Maximum contract signed is two years (the oldest players will be 25, but on their way out.)
-- Drafted players will have DEFAULT CONTRACTS that may be in violation of previous rules. For example, 23-year-old Ryan Johansen expires 2017 so he's good; but Brendan Gallagher expires in 2021, and we can't have that.
-- All violating players MUST be traded by the first trade deadline.
-- Trade restrictions = two-piece only, as per usual.
-- No waivers. It's too easy to accidentally pick someone up with a sloppy contract.
---
Here's why fantasy draft will work, Bruins: whether you are 1st pick, or 20th pick,under-23 players have similar values. Sean Monahan is often selected first overall, but at 21st-overall, I selected Noah Hanifin, followed by Ryan Johansen next. That's a fine tandem for low picks.
Challenge Guy may do lottery; we can pick our teams, or hit 'pick a team for me'.
But for the love of god, guys. Just hit 'randomize order' once and play if not.
---
Screenshot of contracts after draft must be posted for roster compliance, along with another at the trade deadline if it applies.
Did I miss anything? I'm new.

I say we either do the Hurricanes next or the Lightning sans Stamkos.

Re: Next Challenge?
I like Red Wings with only Scandies. I say we allow signing UFAs from the Euro leagues, as in, they must have played in Europe the season before you signed them. Or, you're only allowed to sign undrafted UFAs from Europe. Of course, you may never trade a UFA that you signed, because you could load your team up with UFAs and then peddle them at the trade deadline for draft picks. Maybe you have to keep him until the contract is up. Maybe you could be allowed to waive and/or release him. I don't know. I think if you're doing all Scandanavian, you should be allowed to bring in players from the Euro leagues. It would make it a little more fun I think.

Re: Next Challenge?
The above might work if we were doing an online league. When we do the challenges here, we all play single player and use the same team.brodbeansalad wrote:I'd like to pitch an idea:

Re: Next Challenge?
how would u23 work in an online league? not nearly enough talent under 23 to stack a full league.

Re: Next Challenge?
I guess I'm not really following where you were going with that idea then. You were talking about a fantasy draft with me picking one guy and then you picking another. I guess I'm just confused.

single-player --- I mean you can always specify a team and draft order but I'm talking about running a single-player draft, and drafting players aged 23 and younger

Re: Next Challenge?
Greetings, after uploading my first stats, I noticed that there are currently no individual goalie stats, which I feel is a shame, as mine a pretty good. Why are there no goalie stats, could they be included in future maybe??

Re: Next Challenge?
I forget the reasoning for why they weren't included initially but the stats collected for the challenges have stayed the same because there's a formula that's used to determine points and bonus points and all that. Also, Archibalduk wrote a script (or app... I don't know) that allows the stats to be uploaded via a form. It will take a lot of work on his end to change all of this and his EHM time has been dedicated to things like working on the rosters updates and coding an editor.

Re: Next Challenge?
How bout a 'custom' database with a London team (Knights/Kings/Emperors) in the KHL? Not sure how it would work in the game but in real-life you need 5 'local' players don't you? Could be useful working out who to aquire from the GB and how to get the best out of them in the second-biggest league in the game.MWE wrote:KHL would be a good challenge
Quite interested in the KHL now I've seen Jokerit and other 'foreign' teams are in it.

Re: Next Challenge?
I still belive if we go KHL we should go as Medvescak Zagreb...Croatian pool of players if very poor so that would make a great challenge if we restrict to only 5 Imports, 2-3 Slovenian players and rest need to be Croatian or dual citizenship (on of them Croatian).

Re: Next Challenge?
If we were to do a challenge with the KHL, we'd need someone to write up an in-depth guide to how things work in that league. I know absolutely nothing about it, so I'm not sure how I'd work the rules for a challenge there.
