Minimizing on a laptop
So when I minimize the game on the laptop (Via windows key) I can't unminimize the game without it bugging out and not properly unminimizing (basically I have to restart the laptop) Is there a reason for this? I know I'm not particularly explaining this well. Also the windowed mode doesn't work very well for me otherwise I might use that, the bottom of the game goes below the task bar.

Re: Minimizing on a laptop
The windowed mode not working properly must be a desktop resolution issue. Have you tried a bigger resolution, or are you already maxed on that? Also, you could try hiding the task bar. Right click on the task bar --> Properties --> Auto Hide Task Bar.
I have no suggestions for the full screen problem, as I don't use it myself.

I'll just hide the task bar, didn't even think of that. Thanks!

Re: Minimizing on a laptop
It's so weird that this is a laptop issue. I've been facing this problem, too, for a little while now. Even when I try to open task manager to kill it when it does the wacky bugged out thing, it doesn't let me. It takes a LOT of finagling to get it to work. I don't know when it started because I upgraded to Windows 10 around the same time as I downloaded one of the EHM updates, so I'm not sure if one or the other had an effect. Running it in windowed mode makes all of the text super tiny, too, when it used to scale with the size.
My 'fix' is that I run it in windowed mode with my screen resolution set low. Pretty much the only way it works for me.
But even max resolution with window mode on max desktop resolution and max in-game doesn't work, either. All of the text is microscopic when I do that--well, not MICROSCOPIC, but not as large as it used to be before things started going wackadoodle.
I really wish there was a fix but I'm not even sure when this all started or what might have triggered it. You're definitely not alone with this though.
Desktop everything works fine still, too, though.

Re: Minimizing on a laptop
This sounds similar to the issues I've been having with the game on my laptop. I don't even both with trying to play in a window because of my resolution. When I play fullscreen and try to Alt-Tab back to windows, I can't go back to EHM. This used to work no problem. It's a somewhat recent thing.

Noticed people having this problem on the EHM subreddit also. Is there any way to narrow it down because the game works perfectly in windowed mode on my laptop (1920x1080 resolution, windows 8).

Re: Minimizing on a laptop
I also have this problem. Have had it since full version got released. I always track my practices with an excel dokument every 20games, so this becomes really annoying after a while.
The way I work around it is that when I want to tab out, I change to windowed mode, do my prectice tracking, then back to full screen again. It sucks but just as stated above playing in windowed is not an option since the bottom part is hidden by the taskbar. (Hiding that shouldn't work since mousing over it brings it up again, no?)
When I do mess up and bug the game out by tabbing in fullscreen, it does work to save the game with ctrl+s. Then just end the process and restart the game.
Hope a fix is comming

Re: Minimizing on a laptop
Works for me. I have this problem in my laptop. I believe the taskbar comes up if you bring your mouse to the bottom area on the desktop, not on top of EHM... or something like that. Can't recall. I just know I use it when I play with my lappie.Sesyde wrote:(Hiding that shouldn't work since mousing over it brings it up again, no?)

Re: Minimizing on a laptop
This is because of your laptop's resolution. My laptop is a lower resolution. To play windowed, I'd have to try the lowest resolution, borderless windowed mode, hide my task bar, and cross my fingers and toes.NorthernLights wrote:Noticed people having this problem on the EHM subreddit also. Re: Minimizing on a laptop
I have the same problem on my laptop and desktop (both Win10). If I Alt+Tab to another application and then try to Alt+Tab back to EHM then I am screwed. I also have to resort to doing a hard reboot of the computer. This was not a problem before the official release.

A new patch was released a couple of hours ago. Try installing it and see if that fixes it.dabo wrote:I have the same problem on my laptop and desktop (both Win10). I'm gonna try it in just a second.. and report back.archibalduk wrote:A new patch was released a couple of hours ago. Try installing it and see if that fixes it.
EDIT: Okay that was not cool... I tried it at it didn't work. Not only that but I couldn't click on anything so I had to force re-start my laptop and lost my photoshop work I was working on.

Re: Minimizing on a laptop
Sad to here that, I have also lost work because of this. I had a look at the SI Games forums yesterday and it seems like they are aware of the problem at least.jhcjobpb wrote:I'm gonna try it in just a second.. and report back.archibalduk wrote:A new patch was released a couple of hours ago. Have the same problem. Playing with borderless windowed even though its not what I wanna do but I have too. But when you alt+tab out of fullscreen on a laptop and it starts doing the thing its doing just ctrl+alt+del then dunno what its called in english but where u see the programs etc and then you use tab and your arrows on your keyboard to get down to EHM program/process then just click delete on keyboard and you don't have to lose all work just restart the program. Atleast thats how I do it. I hope you understand me or I can post some screens.

I understand. I tried all tricks but I couldn't click on anything. I could use tab but I wasn't able to close anything. I'm using the borderless window until this gets fixed.tjackie wrote:Have the same problem. Playing with borderless windowed even though its not what I wanna do but I have too.
