The Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL lost 6-5 in a shootout.
but the goal that sent the game into over time was scored with 7 players on the ice
I've just seen the worst officiated game ever

The officiating in the NHL is rubbish. I remember a game last year between the Flames and Canucks. Huselius got called for a phantom holding the stick penalty when the Flames were up by 1 with about 10 minutes left. They showed the replay and it showed Huselius skating up the ice holding no stick but his own. Then the Canucks had powerplay after powerplay, and the refs simply refused to call anything against Vancouver. With about 30 seconds left, Vancouver scored the goal on a 6 on 3 (they pulled the goalie). Then, in OT, they scored on either a 5 on 3 or a 4 on 3 to win the game. No surprise there.
The funny thing was, Linden was talking to the refs in the second intermission. Seeing as how he's on the rule board, it was very suspicios. The ref was also from BC.

The worst call I've seen was during a Dallas - Philly game a couple years ago.
One of the Dallas players accidentally tripped his own guy in their zone as the puck was being cleared by a teammate. Skating up the ice to get out of the zone, like everyone else, was Donald Brashear. He gets about 15-20 feet away and facing the complete opposite direction when the Dallas guy is tripped... and...tweet!, the whistle blows, refs arm is up, and Brashear is called for a trip. Our commentators usually rant when a bad call is made... but this one topped the "looney todem-pole" so well that they could do nohting but laugh.
