When loading I get the error
"The save game is corrupted and cannot be loaded.
Debug info: v1.1.1 setup..cpp 1660 (load_game_data(): unable to unpack the temporary files)
This is usually caused either by errors during saving or bad sectors on the hard-disk."
The game then crashes.
"v1.1.1 startup_screen.cpp 844"
"Unable to access data from disk.
Debug Info: v1.1.1 file_lit.cpp 710 (FILE_LLIST::get_nodes() Could not open file)
Unable to access data from disk, this could be caused by the file containing the data being locked or corrupted."
This occurs even when I have a "successful" save.
The error I get while saving is
"put_zfile(): Unable to open zip file
"save_game_data(): unable to pack the temporary files"
I play using TBL rosters though this also happens under default. This is absolutely heart breaking as I have invested so much of my time into this game since I bought it back in July.
I'm going to reinstall it right now; hopefully that will fix it. If anyone has some insight that would be greatly appreciated.

So I don't know if re-installing fixed it. Sometimes It saves properly, sometimes it doesn't...

Re: Unable to Save&Load games
Does this happen constantly or just once?
I always use the save safely and rolling saves option. This way the game will make multiple saves of your game. So if one of them corrupts, you'll have more to go to.

It happens once every other save. I do use the rolling save option and save safely is turned on.Tasku wrote:Does this happen constantly or just once?

Re: Unable to Save&Load games
I remember something about compressed saves getting more likely or less likely corrupted. Might want to try that too...

not-compressing the saves didn't seem to work...

Re: Unable to Save&Load games
Sounds like a hard drive issue. As a workaround you could try saving on an another drive, though ehm saves should be the smallest problem if that is the case.
The only times I've experienced this is when I've saved carelessly, such as closed the laptop lid while saving and such.

Re: Unable to Save&Load games
I thought it might be but EHM seems to be the only thing that I have problems with. I can save pivtures, download music save other games... Thanks for the help, looks like I'm fluffed until I get a new computer.Thomaxius wrote:Sounds like a hard drive issue.
