Well...if we were GOING to lose...at least it wasn't to P'bro or the Bison... :p

Well done mate. We'll have to meet up in Guildford/MK next season.

Calv: coverage was really good mate. Aside from the usual game of 'cliche bingo'. Looks a good venue. Can't wait to go with MK (and lose 10-0...)

The NIC is probably the best venue in the country, there's basically not a bad seat in there and it's right in the city centre

Nottingham were definitely the best team of the weekend, Fife and Cardiff were very poor in the semi finals. Coventry started the final slowly and never really looked like scoring. Nottingham just had way more depth (especially after Blaze lost Robinson, one of their best players, to an early injury) and played with a lot more physicality.

Flames certainly finished the season strongly, I think if they'd started the season with the team the finished it with then they could've won the treble.

Other things to come out of the weekend. I now own this.

Match issue, never worn. :D

Auction. Paid a healthy price for it, but given that Cam Janssens shirt went for £700, then I'm happy. :D

Game worn shirts go for so much money in the UK!

http://www.nottinghampost.com/Nottingha ... story.html
Nottingham Panthers owner Neil Black says the addition of a new London-based club to the Elite League is 'very close'.

Black already owns the Panthers and Braehead Clan and while he would not say if he will also control the proposed expansion team, he admits he is heavily involved in the project.

"London is very close to being announced and I'm certainly involved," he told the Post.

"We're hoping to announce it very shortly. I'm certainly involved in putting it altogether."
and
Meanwhile, Black was previously rumoured to be interested in bringing a KHL franchise to the UK.

He dismissed that, but said he wants Panthers to play a pre-season game against a team from Europe's biggest league, which is largely based in Russia.

"There's nothing in that rumour at all, absolutely zero. It's a fact the KHL are interested in playing pre-season games in the UK," he said.

"There's no doubt I'd love them to play in Nottingham."

Guildford jerseys can go for over £1,000 IIRC. :-o

Matt Towe has announced his retirement as he's had some sort of career opportunity. What a big loss for the Flames... :-(

Poland wins in 1st friendly exhibition 4:3 with United Kingdom. I must say I bet on penalties but they scored again. :) If someone wants to see 2nd match it will be for free on youtube.

3-2 OT win for GB in the second game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHLwI7yhTdA

Same old players announced in the final WC squad, we need to be replacing Lyle, Weaver and Tait sooner rather than later

Great win for GB after a bit of a dodgy performance against Estonia the other day. Looking like a winner takes all game against Ukraine on Saturday for promotion to 1A.

I wonder how that "IFK on paska" sheet ended up there (to the left of the Great Britain Fans). It translates to "IFK is Adam Oates".

Never seen an international NM look so lost as the Lithuanian one did. His defence properly hung him out to dry.
