Editing CHL/Continental Cup

Post by BKarchitect »

I notice that CHL and Continental Cup teams are not editable in the pre-game editor (that I can see)...is there a way to "force" teams and seedings for those European club tournaments in the import.cfg, like you can for standard club leagues?

Thanks

Unfortunately it's not possible.

I kind of figured out a way to do it. It's a lot of work and not a 'clean' solution.

So the seedings/teams in these two comps is obviously hard-coded. It fills in the brackets, at least the first year, with clubs based not on the club's name but on the club's record ID. The record ID is visible in both the EHM1 Editor and in the export CSV files from the Updater. However, I don't see an ability in either program or the old pre-game editor to actually edit this record ID number.

If you wanted to, you could basically exchange club identities between a club in the comp and another club you want in it by swapping the two clubs' info (name, colors, staff, etc). It's a quite a lot of work, you also probably have the check the club comp's history to make sure that info is not also reversed and even then, I'm not sure you can actually edit club history to be correct. But it does work.

They're not hard-coded, they're just in a part of the DB that isn't yet editable. Hopefully those sections will be editable at some point (I'm working on it).
