So the 2038 playoffs roll around and the President trophy winning Pittsburgh Penguins are paired against the Buffalo Sabres. 2 Wins at the Consol to kickstart the series, but the Sabres pull one back at their first home game. Things go down fast for the Sabres as their goalie is injured, so their recall some young Swedish guy from their farm team to backup the backup-now-starter. My fifth grade self trapped inside couldn't help but smile at his name.

Well, the goofy name aside I hope he didn't get into any games for the Sabres sake. Those attributes are not good.
Soo, this is the first time I have ever seen one of my players turn down an NHL team like this. He also rejected my new contract offer which would have increased his salary by around five times what he had
I guess low adaptability and/or high loyalty can cause that. Imo, I think it is somewhat realistic, a super shy hockey player might choose that way. Or maybe he doesn't want to join your team and is just being polite

He actually chose to stay in my team, plus that he turned down my counter-offer I put in when the Blue Jackets tried to get him, maybe he just really likes my team so he chose to stay with less pay
(or he plans to use his Player option year that's in his earlier contract, has there been any bugs concerning that?)
Ah, right. You're modo. I thought you were the nhl team.
I guess he has low adaptability, but also his reputation has risen so high that he doesn't want to stay in your team, or that he wants twice as high salary and you can't afford it, which sometimes causes them to say "does not wish to negotiate a new contract at the current time".
If you're bored, You could try experimenting by kicking players out and freeing up budget, and then checking if he wants to sign a contract then. (Obvious reload the save after you're done)
This game is starting to get too realistic for me...
That is one helluva lottery win, I had Tampa go from 18th to 2nd in my 2018 draft lottery, lucky gits.
Also on a less realistic Oilers note: If Halak hadn't stolen two games with 40+ saves in the finals I would have swept the entire playoffs:/ Went out in Conference finals year 1 and 2, sad times.

I had to wait until 2020 and now Hall does not watn to re-sign with me...
Could be worse in my game Oilers and Jets battle it out almost compeltely on their own and considering Hall, he is still with the Oilers but even worse: Anotehr guy whose last Name also is Hall was a draft sleeper pick by the Oilers and is as good as him if not better. Hard times.
My McDavid ended that season with a 8.22 average rating, he had better attributes than Crosby by the end of season 3, which was a bit lucky since normally McDavid isn't THAT good in EHM. For me he was a 1PPG (roughly) guy all three seasons and never once got injured. I picked up Tyler Johnson from free agency with only a 4.6M cap hit so I essentially had 2 first lines. Johnson went on a 15 game point streak that ended in the Conference finals and Hall went on a 10 game point streak that ended in the finals. Funny thing was that this was meant to be my inbetween season where I just grew my draft prospects in the first team, but my first two lines had other plans. I mean when line 1 is Hall, McDavid, Eberle and line 2 is Draisaitl, RNH, Johnson you have to pick one line to match, whichever you don't match will wreck your day two times over, we beat Jets 20-7 on aggregate in our semi-final sweep, pretty disgusting. Now I'm back to trying to get a Swe-2 team into Swe-1, which is way harder than winning a Stanley cup in EHM as it turns out.
Also has anyone else noticed that Nilsson turns into a golden god in the playoffs? His regular season antics are normally less than impressive, but on the two playoff runs I started him over Cory Schneider he had a 0.95x and 0.93x Save%. Adding that to our silly offense was gamebreaking.
