How to Open XML Files in Open Office
I used the EHM 2007 Updater and exported the files to a separate folder. When I right click and open the file(s), in Open Office, the spreadsheets are blank. What am I not doing right? Any help appreciated.

Re: How to Open XML Files in Open Office
Can you upload an example XML file? I will check whether the file itself is blank or if it is just an issue with opening the file in Open Office.

If I remember correctly it only shows empty but the file continues everything it should. I know my friend wasn't able to open the XML file in Open Office, well it opened but it's empty.archibalduk wrote:Can you upload an example XML file? Not entirely sure how to upload that type of file on a forum.

Re: How to Open XML Files in Open Office
Got it, thanks. The file opens fine in Excel and so, as CJ says, it is clearly an OpenOffice issue. I had a quick look on Google and it appears that OpenOffice struggles with XML (LibreOffice has better support). The solution may be to save the file as CSV instead (I'm assuming you generated the XML file using the EHM Updater - which has an option for CSV).

If CSV doesn't work...archibalduk wrote:Got it, thanks. The file opens fine in Excel and so, as CJ says, it is clearly an OpenOffice issue. The other option is to have a friend with Excel and opening it and saving it to a file that Open Office recognizes (but I don't know which they are).
