I was thinking about creating short instruction in free time, but I haven't done anything with that yet. It's not very hard, but I prefer to make some testing before.

Re: Import_config.cfg file
I've started from creating in notepad .cfg file which I named ""FORCE_DATABASE_SET_TEAMS"" and followed instructions from new update. In mine file it looks that way:
And then I've started changing teams in editor in Norwegian first and second league.
Code: Select all
# "FORCE_DATABASE_SET_TEAMS"
#
# This allows you to force the importer to use the teams set in the wanted league/division in the database, instead of using the list of teams coded into the importer ruleset. Note that this may result in errors if you have not set the correct number of teams to be in the wanted league in your database. Note that you also need to have the correct detailed divisions set for the teams if the league is setup with initial divisions or conferences
#
# The format is: "FORCE_DATABASE_SET_TEAMS" "league long name"
"FORCE_DATABASE_SET_TEAMS" "Norwegian UPC-Ligaen"
And then I've started changing teams in editor in Norwegian first and second league.

So did you manage to change the league nationality from Norway to Belarus?

Re: Import_config.cfg file
No, league still disappears when I try to change its nationality to Belarusian, but it's not that bad. There isn't problem with to many Norwegians in teams, so it doesn't bother me right now. After several tests biggest issue is that all teams don't have full rosters. Some teams have only few players. None of 10 teams can't fulfill their rosters. I've never seen something like that before. Funny fact: despite of having only 3 or 4 players Neman Grodno's Reserve team in one of savegames dominated the league
I'm testing what's connection between small rosters and matchups attendance.

Re: Import_config.cfg file
So just for fun I created a sort of Super KHL with teams from more nations. I initially wanted to put the Alaska Aces in, but then it would have been too much of a mess with the ECHL and thus I reactivated the Anchorage Aces. They can send players to the Aces of the ECHL. The league is very fun to play, yet the KHL simulation should be improved to have it even better.

Re: Import_config.cfg file
Anyone has any idea how to write this command properly in import_config file?
I'm messing with 2013/14 rosters because I wanted to play KHL with Lev Prague and HC Donbass and I've edited leagues rules to 2014 season, but somehow there are still errors that make impossible to play in SHL and KHL when I'm trying to start game.

There's the same problem with KHL. Any ideas how to solve this problem?
Code: Select all
- Added support in import_config.cfg for changing team division data (for example for custom databases where needed detailed divisions are not present in old 2007 data but are added by the importer)

It's hard to say without seeing what you've entered in the import_config file in respect of the SHL and KHL. Can you post this?

Re: Import_config.cfg file
Here's how does import_config file look right now
I've tried also with command "FORCE_DATABASE_SET_TEAMS" "Russian Superleague" but without any effort. I don't get one thing. When in pre-game editor there are 19 (like in EHM 07) teams in Russian Superleague I have error about missing teams in KHL. But when I add missing teams to KHL there appears that error from mine previous post. I don't have any problem with for example AHL. In editor there is 27 teams in that league (again: like in EHM 07) but in game there's no problem with that.
I don't know how to connect this all informations, maybe it's just impossible to make such a changes in EHM EA yet, or I'm just too tired by my regular work

Re: Import_config.cfg file
I'm doing this from memory and so you will need to check, but I'm not sure the KHL divisions aren't in the EHM database. So you need to use the "CHANGE_TEAM_DIVISION_DATA" to set up the correct KHL divisions for each team. If they are in the DB then you need to correctly set the Other Division settings for each team in the Pre-Game Editor.
You also need to ensure that there are the correct number of teams set for the SHL and KHL in the database for the 2014 ruleset.
The purpose of the "FORCE_DATABASE_SET_TEAMS" is to allow you to overrule the EHM:EA import settings. But if you're going to do this, you have to ensure that the correct number of teams are set to each league (including the correct conference/division) using the Pre-Game Editor and/or the "CHANGE_TEAM_DIVISION_DATA" command.

These two commands are really useful for custom databases, particularly when you want to use the 2014 ruleset (or the 2015 ruleset if/when introduced). They allow you to override the settings used when importing an EHM 2007 database into EHM:EA using the Import button. I.e. so you're no longer stuck with teams confined to certain leagues and can move things around (and using the new conferences/divisions).- Added support in import_config.cfg for forcing the use of database team divisions for playable leagues

HALLELUJAH!! I missed this, and was actually about to start a new topic asking about this, because man I have missed creating my own leagues just for giggles and experimenting.
So does this still work on a 1-for-1 basis like it did previously in 2007 (where putting in a team in requires a corresponding team out, etc -- if I put Hartford in the Atlantic, I'd have to take say Florida out of the Atlantic)?

Re: Import_config.cfg file
So quick Q: If you're trying to use the FORCE_DATABASE_SET_TEAM, and it needs the long league name on the end, but the targeted league is one of the ones listed in the CHANGE_COMP_NAME section.... which league name do you use? The old long one, or the new one? And... does its location in the file matter ( does it process the file start to finish, top to bottom, in that order)?
Was trying to turn the Slovak Extraliga into a US-based league with rep below the NHL and above the KHL.... but when I import it and start a new game the league isn't showing at all under Slovakia or the U.S. It's just vanished.

Re: Import_config.cfg file
Good question! I don't know the answer, but the easiest thing to do is to rename the league using the Pre-Game Editor and then you don't have to worry about using CHANGE_COMP_NAME at all.
The CHANGE_COMP_NAME command is really intended to allow an EHM 2007 DB to remain compatible with EHM 2007 whilst allowing the flexibility of changing league names for EHM 1. But if you have no intention of using the DB with EHM 2007 then you can rename leagues and teams via the Pre-Game Editor without any issue.

Ahh, I didn't know that EHM had gotten to the point where you could rename playable leagues outright in the editor without it freaking out over hard-coded names it expected to see.archibalduk wrote:Good question! I know I had played around before and switched the EIHL to a US league, and it showed fine under the playable league selection screen, so not sure why the Slovak is different. It's just.... gone now. Ultimately I'm trying to find what we can and can't do in terms of modification compared to 2007.

I've tried it and most of the time it's the new name, not the old one. Pretty sure there was one that the old name worked only when changing.

Re: Import_config.cfg file
Not sufe if topic is right, but there were discussion about changing leagues, so... Anyone has any ideas why changing teams doesn't work anymore in KHL? I don't have problem with other leagues except KHL. I'm using new editor and changing Asia Ice Hockey Leagut with Austrian 2nd league worked perfect, but I can't add different team to KHL - it plays matches but they don't figure in league tables. Putting additional lines in .cfg file didn't work

I even went through and added a couple teams to the VHL and MHL so there's a uniform farm system, lol.
I removed Yugra and Vitzya from any leagues and they still show up.
The two created teams show up as teams to pick but if you try and play as them the game just crashes.

I only added this to the end of my file:
I ended up just renaming a couple teams and shifting a few teams to different divisions.# "FORCE_DATABASE_SET_TEAMS"

# This allows you to force the importer to use the teams set in the wanted league/division in the database, instead of using the list of teams coded into the importer ruleset.
"FORCE_DATABASE_SET_TEAMS" "Kontinental Hockey League"

Re: Import_config.cfg file
You can't just add the command that way and hope that it works. You have to specify each team in each division and conference.
What are you trying to achieve?

I just made changes within the editor.
I was going to switch out two Russian teams and add a Chinese team and a team in London.

Re: Import_config.cfg file
Ok, now go on and specify conference/division for each team

Re: Import_config.cfg file
Has anyone tested AHL alignments with a 2015 ruleset, specifically how do you assign which teams receive the "California" schedule?
