Passing plays

OK, I've noticed a small flaw in either my managerial skill, or with the game. No matter how hard I try to get good playmakers, and what tactics I set them on. I just don't seem to get alot of assists. Very few goals have multiple assists, and alot of the goals seem to be from turnovers.

Goals are good no matter how it gets in the back of the net. But is there anything that I'm maybe missing to encourage or help assists show up?

have you installed the newest patch?? i think there was a problem with this that has been fixed.

You may also have your tactics set to less passing(safe/very safe) and more shooting(often/barrage).

If you play a heavy backchecking and/or puck pressure style that can lead to more tunrovers and one and on rushes resulting in goals without assists as well. Even post-patch turnovers at their blueline will often (rightly) turn into unassisted goals

Hmm, ok. I'm just finishing up my first fantasy challenge season before I apply the patch.
But the tactics thing may get me too. A couple lines I do have a high/barrage type shooting on that line. But I generally tried to offset it by adjusting the playmakers individual tactics for that line.

I'll try the patch first and go back if I still notice it and play with tactics some more.

ok. thank you. i wasnt really sure. it was just something i heard on hfboards.

Since i have the 3.0.2 patch, i can see a more realistic amount of assists (i've played around 25 games with the patch).
So i guess and hope it will be the same for you once you installed it

If not, it would be a tactics issue. In that case, check out the Tactics Guide (in our download section), and if it doesn't solve your problem, mention it the forums and be sure you'll be helped
