I think this could help Ribeiro who I think could use to get his act together (was going to say could use to get his ass kicked actually...) and going to Dallas could get his head on straight.
Niinimaa has always been one of those guys that seems to disappear for stretches, but he has the talent to be a solid #2-3 with consistency, but both players are a good example of how lack of consistency in play leads to lack of consitency in the logo you find on your chest

I can respect and 'agitator' type; I hate 'em when not on my team of course but still if they can back it up and get under guys skins more power to 'em; it's another element of the game. I'll never... EVER respect a chronic diver a guy who agitates then turtles OR a guy who would fake a major injury to get a call then pop up skate over to his bench and laugh at the other team and the refs for buying it. I wonder what guys who actually have been seriously injured on the ice, like say Saku Koivu think about that little act?
Ribiero can burn in hell for all I care, he's been dead to me for a long time now; but I'd love to hear what a guy like Mike Modano would have to say to him about his pulling those kind of anctics in Dallas.

Well, let's say he can do his job well if he feels like it (and it's been a couple of years since he last did). He can also go into a whining, sulking mode if he doesn't get his way. He was good in Edmonton when he was considered a top-2 defenseman in the team; he then got traded to Long Island where he had to prove himself again to get a top-2 spot, and he played like rubbish and got in the coaches doghouse for his constant whining. And apparently he wasn't a big hit in Dallas either, because he only lasted about 7 months there. He should still have the ability to be a good offense-minded D-man, and when he's on his game I suppose his offense more than makes up for the defensive screw-ups that have been a part of his game all through his career. But he has to get those 40-50 points a season for that.Shadd666 wrote:Niinimaa is not the most outstanding D-man, but he does his job well and will had a physical impact in the Habs lineup, and also more consistency and experience than Ribeiro.
