Some moves have been made recently by the Ducks; sending Chistov to the Bruins for a 3rd (clearing $800,000 in room), sending Fridge to Philly and picking up Parros from Colorado.
First of all, just what Philly needs getting Fedoruk... another tough guy with limited skill and mobility!! Good to see they've properly identified their problems and are working with the new staff to fix them
The interesting thing here though I think is that it certainly appears that Burke is up to something clearing out $800,000 in cap room without taking any salary back. I think these moves are just the setup for a big move of some sort.

No idea... but even more shocking is they gave Colorado a 2nd for Parros!!! So I'm officially waiting for the "other shoe to drop" here, maybe something additonal with Colorado or maybe some form of 3 way deal.
He is thinking Chistov will never amount to anything except a good skater, and 15 goal scorer. Maybe 20. It is funny cause when I first saw him in EHM, I was thinking....whoa this guy is overrated. Who knows maybe he does turn out really great. But to me, Burkie has him pegged at the right level. Plus with the zillions of 12 year old wingers Brian has...not a shock one had to go.
Brian Burke is one of the NHL's best GMs and Vancouver was INSANE to let him go (Nonis has been awful, by the way). He for sure has something sneaky coming up here, the Ducks are surprisingly well off as far as cap room goes (about 38 million from my very rough and probably inaccurate estimation) so look for him to make a move for a big contract.
Thats insane, $38M and they're what, like #1 or #2 in the league? Scary stuff. And they could probably still move one of their goalies and be just as good, creating more spending room.
The Ducks are the managerial model of how the game is going to be from now on. They're so far under the cap, even with two huge contracts in Niedermayer and Pronger, because they are LOADED with young talent. It's going to be interesting to see how Burke manages to keep the team together or continue with the system he has in place a few years down the road.
