Editing league rules and structures in EHM 1

Discuss all aspects of editing the data and databases in EHM here. Have a question about the EHM Editor, EHM Assistant, editing the .cfg files, hex editing the .dat or .db files? Want to tweak the EHM exe file to change league rules/structure, start date etc? This is the place!
Forum rules
This is the forum to discuss all aspects of editing the EHM data and tweaking the game.

Have a bug or feature request for the EHM Editor? Post them in the EHM Editor thread. Please start a new thread or post in another thread if you have a question about how to use the EHM Editor.

Given the large number of questions on similar topics, we ask that you start a new thread for a new question unless you can locate a similar question in an existing thread. This will hopefully ensure that similar questions do not get buried in large threads.

1.4 will have 29-club KHL, therefore we just wait for the update. We should focus on leagues not playable like VHL or MHL. Are you working there or not? I am waiting for 1.4

You can't yet. I need to write that part of the Editor.
I mean in general :) To send you to be included
There's a comp_history_update file you can use. If you open up the EHM Updater and use the Create Templates option it'll create the spreadsheet for you. You can also export the existing comp_history so you can see what it looks like and what data already exists.

It'll take a bit of time to code, but it is fairly straightforward. My plan is that the Editor will also automatically export the Ruling Body, Transfer Rules and Finance Rules that are linked to the Rules & Structures (it'll all be in a single ".ehm" file - I was tempted to call it a ".riz" file! :D). Then you can import everything into another DB (it'll only import the Ruling Body, etc if they do not already exist in the DB). It will also attempt to match up the league if it does not have the same ID in the database. So the only thing it is unlikely to be able to do is match up the clubs if they have been set via the Division settings. Also, it'll be up to the user to ensure the destination DB has the correct number of clubs.

Sounds fantastic :notworthy:
I suggest you to add a "checker" to see eg if there is correct number of clubs

Checking the number of clubs wouldn't be all that effective as it would depend on the Team Picking Rules. That said, maybe it's something I could look into adding in a future version. I'll have a think about it.

Does it possible to do non playable international competition with 2 conferences (canada u20/usa u20 vs slovakia/germany/france/slovenia/denmark...), then do all-stars game vs conferences, then add these all-stars teams into world cup?

Im courious... would it be easier archi just an idea for the schedule template if it is even possible to add like a schedule template generate. So for example say we add teams to say NHL such as las vegas or we create a league and such i mean if it is not too much to add to the editor, figure instead of trying to figure out the schedule template we just hit the generate button and it generates a fake schedule for us with the added teams into the league... just an idea..

I did, but even copying what was done for the protected North America/Europe ruling bodies, they still wouldn't show up in the drop-down menu.

1. First, take a look at the list of divisions in the Editor in order to figure out the Team ID prefix (the first division is 0, the second is 1, etc). As you will see from this screenshot the divisions are in this order:
I can't see this screen in new editor!

Archi - I added a new comp into transfer rules, when i add extra rules, i add the first, no problem, then i add a second, but it overwrites the first. I need to add several new items at once to be able to get the second, I hope I am clear :)

We need some sort of import-export feature. We work for hours and hours over leagues, then we need to create a player and darn ... all should be re-done from scratch...

And we need to sort out how to deal with conference/divisions with a different number of games. The AHL works like that, although I don't know how to get it working with the MHL.

No I'm afraid I cannot understand what you mean. Can you post what exactly you did (step by step)?

I have tried adding some Extra Rules without any problem. Although I'm seeing it's not always coming up as a true/false setting - I'll check that out.
