I need to buy a kilt!!! Else, what kind of bagpipes player i am? :D

Is anyone wants a yoga book? I bought one for new players but Minty already bought them one, so there's one at my home (i'm John Estrada from Never Dies ;)). Come and help yourself, or message me if you don't have my keys to enter.

Minty, where can i buy the cheapest kilt? :p

I have yet to own or wear any form of underwear in this game. I recently bought a kilt and staying true to my Scottish heritage, I wear nothing under my kilt.

What part of scotland?

I also have scottish blood from aberdeen hence also a kilt as it should be worn.

No idea where. My great-grandparents came over to the US (with a brief stay in Nova Scotia) from Scotland.

I've got my guitar and mic tagged by the police but I've never left them in my apartment. Can somebody steal them if I've got them equipped? I just thought they could steal loose items.

Cool.......

My nan and her brother both decided in 1920 to leave scotland and travel by sea to canada. My nan eventually came home but her brother stayed. All in all my family i think must have been nomads as i have English, scottish, welsh and canadian blood in me.

I've got a pretty similar ancestry. My dad's side of the family is Scottish and Irish. My mom's side is English (her mother claims we had family on the Mayflower... but then again, most people in New England with English ancentry do). I think my great grandparents came over in the early 1900's. I know my great-grandmother was born in the late 1800's so I'm figuring she came over as a young adult. Unfortunately, most of the people in my family who would know all the specifics have passed away by now. My grandmother claims to know everything but her memory hasn't been the greatest over the last few years, so I don't how accurate info from her would be now. I know my dad has a necktie with the family tartan from his grandmother. I'd love to find one for his grandfather's family (and my last name).

Vinlo - I've invited you to our band

I'll put you down as a drummer just as you asked. What do you want your secondary instrument to be?

no worries Minstrel, I got in and thank you for the present. It is the most beautiful drum set I've ever seen. The smooth blue paint and the chromed edges...I was speechless when I first saw it in your apartment. Again, Thank you.

p.s. I tagged it right away, and it is now locked safe and sound in my apartment. :)

Most of the time, and it's certainly the case for drummers and keyboardists, another reason to leave your instument at home is due to them counting in your 'encumberment'. I had to drop some items just to pick up the drum kit for tcs. I know I saw on the Popo forum though someone mentioning that they had their sax stolen from them and that's when someone posted about carrying instruments only for gigs/jams. :dunno:

Kilts 'pends on what color ya want. If you wait until your Toronto show you could check out 'Shop in Heaven' as that place has literally every color of every kind of clothing/jewelry/etc known to the game. Shangri-La ~New York~ has kilts in red green and black for $125

Archi you should set people with jsut their primary instruments for now since if you make someone bagpiper/pan flute at your gig it will detract from the show rating if they don't show up with both pipes and flute.

EDIT: Glad you got em; I think you guys should be over 200 for your gig tonight at TPIH cause you're at 173 now!

Thanks for the tip  I'll just make Vinlo a drummer. I'll drop my secondary skill as backing vocalist. I'll leave Kris as both lead singer and guitarist as otherwise we'll need yet another member. We'll just have to club together for one of Kris' instruments.

Sorry if this has been asked before. Is there other way to get money except from waiting for payday? I'm poorer than a bum... :cloud:

Yeah, you can set your "Spare Time Mission" under Priorities and skills to 'Busk' which is taking to the street and playing for tips. The will give you some money but it's also hard on your health and mood so go back to your appt or to the park and rest after you've done it a few times. This should give you some money to snag the basics. You'll get it whenever you get updates.

I posted a little article about updates to the Knowledge Base you should check out if you haven't already.

When I get money next from my boss I'l help you out with some skill books, but the extra Yoga book we have floating around would be useful for you as well.

Archi - we didn't have any instruments save my microphone I think for our first gig 8-)

EDIT: My song is at 93% for my most recent update so I should finish it overnight :joy:

Oh yeah, because your character started with the sax... forgot 'bout that. ;)

I've scheduled a morning jam on the 24th before we fly out ta Lalaland to practice me new song which should be completed with the next update, two at the max. So that gives us two more new songs for this trip; rather cool I must say. When we get back I want to work on a song to give us a technically (in terms of lyric and melody ratings) better version of Tear It! copying over the same lyrics to the improved quality base song.

Nice work by Never Dies at TPIH tonight; I hear you put on a quality show even if you had to borrow instruments from the crowd :-D

Vinlo - you're now our drummer. Now we have a sax player, lead singer/electric guitarist and a drummer :ohyeah:

We're still looking for two more members: a bassist and a pianist. I think the bassist is our number one priority.

Is anyone (i.e. Vinlo or Kris) working on a jazz song at the moment? I'm sitting at home working on a song at the moment. I haven't made much progress on it yet. The only song we have in our repetoire at the moment is a punk-rock song written by Kris :-D

You can cover songs from other genre's, and when you've added them to your repetoire, you can change the genre. For example, my latest song, Forced, I wrote as a Heavy Metal song, but when I added it to the TDG repetoir, it gave me the choice to change it to a punk style song for when our band plays, so I did.

You should probably look into that if your lacking in songs to jam.

Nice tip  I've added a song to our repetoire. How do we organise jams?

Also, organising a date: Do we have to move our person to the date venue in order for the date to go ahead or will it be done automatically?

I have a terrible/truly abysmal heavy metal song I wrote while figuring out popo. Also, I'm going to focus on work until payday, Friday, and then I'll start composing a jazz song.

I think I'm going to work on getting some money first, too. I want to save up to get some books - it'll probably take a long time, though! I want to learn the basic detective skill (a whopping $11,000!!!)
