Importing EHM 2005 rosters into EHM 1

Hi,

I was just wondering if there's any 2005-2006 roster update for EHM 1.
I really loved the 1998-1999 retro roster update done by TBL and would love to try something in the same vein with maybe a start date around July 1st.
I know there,s the UUDB but it seems to be working for ehm 2007.

You can use EHM 07 databases with EHM 1 by importing them via the function on the game's start menu.

I think the only 2005-06 roster is the roster for EHM05, and I don't think Archi's EHM1 Editor is yet able to convert an EHM05 database into an EHM1 database

For EHM07 retro rosters that are "complete" there is the 1974 database, the 1998 database and the yearly databases from 2006-2013 (there are also partially completed databases for 1979 and 1992)




Regarding importing EHM07 databases into EHM1.....

For importing EHM07 database into EHM1 don't forget about the Import_config file.....for the older databases you need to ensure you're using the 2006 Rule Set http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/wiki/inde ... nto_EHM:EA


In addition to gameplay rules the Rule Set connects to things like number of teams in a league, division/conference setup, playoff setup and more - the Rule Set choices currently are 2006, 2014, 2015 and 2016

Important: with EHM07 databases and importing them into EHM1 the Rule Sets 2014, 2015 or 2016 really only work for those specific years because the game automatically sorts out all the needed changes to create those years.....so as far as I understand things, essentially all EHM07 databases with a Start Date before 2014 that you import into EHM1 have to be done using the 2006 Rule Set, and then you can use Archi's EHM1 Editor to make additional edits if desired


Some of the older databases might have "adjusted birth years" (from when 2006 had to be the Start Year no-matter-what) and you'd need to check for this and fix it if necessary before importing the database


The EHM07 Editing Tools can be used before importing the database into EHM1; any database that worked with the old EHM07 should work with the new EHM1

There are still a few kinks to iron out, but you can get some leagues playable using an EHM 2005 database by following the steps below. IIRC not all leagues quite work - you will get a couple of errors when importing and you'll find certain leagues aren't listed as playable. But, as far as I know, those leagues that do appear playable do seem to work.

2. Open the Editor, click on File -> Open Database and select your EHM 2005 database.

3. Once the database has loaded, click on Tools -> Converter -> EHM 2005 to EHM 2007.

4. Once the database has converted, click on File -> Save As -> EHM 2007 Database. Save the database to a new/separate folder. You can now close the Editor.

5. Create a new text file and enter the text below. Then save it as "import_config.cfg" and save it to the same folder as your converted database.

6. Load EHM, click on Import Database and select your imported database.

7. Create a new game as usual.

IIRC you don't need the other config files (e.g. extra_config.cfg, etc) but I might be wrong. I am doing much of this from memory!

FYI - the "conversion_data" sub-folder in the EHM Editor folder contains all of the presets which enables the EHM 2005 database to be converted to EHM 2007 format. The "_ids" files set which ID numbers are converted and the "_extra" files set out what additional data will be created for the purposes of converting from 2005 to 2007. Hopefully with some further tweaks to the presets, we can have a flawless conversion process.
