Caphit in the finals

Post by sven_usling »

Hello!
A very weird thing has happened for me.
My team is playing in the Stanley Cup finals, game 7.
I am using the exact same roster I have used for most of the season (excluding injuries and such).
And now when it it time for game 7, my team is above the caphit. It has gone so far that some new prospects have arrived to the team, but to make sure this didnt happen I sent them down to AHL.
I have tried to change out players for cheaper guys, but it didn't help.
If I add the salaries of my NHL team it adds up to about 68 million.
I found this to be very weird. Any ideas what to do?

Sorry, I don't have a solution or "work around" for you (hopefully someone does) but I would encourage you to report it and upload your save at the SI Bugs Forum http://community.sigames.com/forumdispl ... Bugs-Forum

Can you post a screen shot of your financial screens?

Sorry for being stupid, but which screen specifically do you need?
And how do I post pictures?

For what it's worth, despite what Ivan said over at SI I think it's a bug/error, as the Salary Cap is not in effect during the playoffs IRL, and you most definitely shouldn't have to be making trades/roster moves/etc between game 6 and 7 of the SCF

To post images you need to have the image uploaded somewhere (like photobucket) and then you use the "insert URL" when making your post, and then you can link to your image so it'll show

A day before game 1 of the round 1 in the NHL-playoffs the "pro-rated club payroll room" looks odd. Or does it increase during the the season because it calculates the aliquot part of the salary as the season advances?

I have a similar situation, not as drastic though. Cap space shows over 20 million to spend, although there should be space for only 6 million. I'm in the regular season, 2040.

Does the game actually prohibit you from starting the game after you did the roster moves? Since the NHL is salary capped on a per week basis EHM only updates your salary cap hit on a per week basis. You can test this out in pre-season, when you send all your guys down after training camp your cap hit will still be at the number it was before you sent them down until the next week begins. So it's entirely possible you're currently below the cap. But the game hasn't updated the cap hit value. Presumably it snapshotted your last week's salary hit right after those prospects joined and messed up the math in the cap hit calculation. The way EHM seems to calc the cap hit is it divides the total salary of the guys you have up by either your amount of players or 23. Whichever is lower (since you can't have more than 23 guys on roster in a season). This means that when you have more than 23 guys on roster (which I assume you did right as those prospects joined) the calculation will have divided the total salary of all players on your roster by 23. Giving a larger number than it should have. But since you sent those players down you should be below the cap right now.

Yes I couldn't start the game. The game said I had a caphit and wouldn't start the game.
I managed to fix it by sending down some of my regular players, but it is quite annoying to have to send down one of your regular players for the last game of the season...
So i managed to get around it, but the problem shouldn't occur in the first place.
