Notable players not signing in free agency

Heading into year 3 in the Vegas db v1.2 players like Artemi Panarin, Wayne Simmonds, Pekka Rinne, Tyler Myers, Mats Zuccarello, and Ryan Dzingel are not signed to any contracts. Is this just because most teams don't have the cap space to sign them or is this a glitch? It's very unrealistic IMO that these players aren't signed to contracts.

It happens all the time yeah. Last year I made a thread about this somewhere. It's just the AI that is bad at managing their cap so alot of good players are left without a contract for the first couple of months. Then some teams will waive some players to free some cap space and in december/january they will those players for 1 year and a cheap salary, like 5 millions.
