Re: Minstrel Hockey League 2016-17
Is that a full house? Good to see if it is.
When can we trade draft picks? I have my keepers fairly set but think i have a few upgrades for others if they are in need of some (Check out my trade block (if people could set there trade blocks that would be good)). I'm always open to offers.
Would it be better to talk within the league page? Not everyone checks these boards daily so could be more communication that way?

We are still waiting to hear from two teams; Concussion Junction and Hamster Dome Nuckleheads.
Draft pick trading is now allowed. Remember that the first ten rounds are set for our keepers

Re: Minstrel Hockey League 2016-17
Keeper deadline is closing in. Remember it must be 1 goalie, 3 defensemen and 6 forwards.
We are also trying to invite two new owners to the league. We had a problem with the invitations but that is now solved

Looking at my team I'm not yet sure who my final choices will beManimal wrote:Keeper deadline is closing in. Remember it must be 1 goalie, 3 defensemen and 6 forwards.

At Forward Jack Eichel and Patrik Laine are untouchable keepers, and I think I'll keep Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jonathan Drouin too...after that I'm not sure who the final 2 selections will be (my choices are Sean Couturier, Tobias Rieder, Tomas Tatar, Jimmy Vesey, Matt Moulson, Brendan Gallagher, Reilly Smith, Sam Reinhart, Travis Zajac and Andre Burakovsky.....I'm leaning towards Couturier and Tatar with Gallagher and Reinhart being considered too)
On defense Duncan Keith and Ryan Suter are my guaranteed keepers, and then I'm not sure who'll get the final D spot (my choices are Rasmus Ristolainen, Hampus Lindholm, Ivan Provorov and Matt Dumba.....I'm leaning towards Dumba, or maybe Ristolainen, with Provorov unlikely but possible too)
In goal I think I'll be going with Andrei Vasilevskiy over Devan Dubnyk (Carter Hutton is my third goalie)
The website notes the "Keeper Lock Date" is this Saturday, September 23rd at 11:00 PM ET

Re: Minstrel Hockey League 2016-17
Each participant has a team of players; a player can only play for one team.Ukko wrote:Can you guys give some insight on how it works and what are the rules?
Each team starts the season with 10 players they've kept from last year's team.
There's a draft at the beginning of the season to pick the rest of your players (each team is made up of 20 starters and 3 substitutes).
Each week or so your team will "play" another team, and at the end of the week you will either have won, loss or tied "the game"
Here are the standings from last season...
Black Bears FHC 19 wins 3 losses 0 ties - 38 points
Bratislava Angry Hedgehogs 16 wins 6 loses 0 ties - 32 points
Västerås Vikings 15 wins 7 losses 0 ties - 30 points
Surahammar Sloppy Slippers 14 wins 8 losses 0 ties - 28 points
Corinthians Red Army 14 wins 8 losses 0 ties - 28 points
Inglourious Basterds 14 wins 8 losses 0 ties - 28 points
Hamster Dome Nuckleheads 13 wins 9 losses 0 ties - 26 points
Wild Boars 12 wins 10 loses 0 ties - 24 points
Methot To My Madness 9 wins 13 loses 0 ties - 18 points
WestCan Canucks 8 wins 14 loses 0 ties - 16 points
Concussion Junction 7 wins 15 loses 0 ties - 14 points
Who? ShattenkirksBed 5 wins 17 loses 0 ties - 10 points
Glasgow Goons 4 wins 18 loses 0 ties - 8 points
Sheffield Steelers 4 wins 18 loses 0 ties - 8 points
There are 12 categories that points are accumulated each week.
You "win" your game by winning more categories than your opponent.
During each "game period" (lasting about a week) you can usually make up to 4 changes to your team's lineup (dropping a player and picking up another one)
The categories are...
For Goaltenders - Wins, Saves and Minutes Played
For skaters - Goals, Assists, Plus/Minus, Penalty Minutes, Power Play Points, Game Winning Goals, Shots On Goal, Hits and Blocked Shots
Everything is kept track of via ESPN's website http://games.espn.com/fhl/leagueoffice? ... sonId=2018

Nice to see that everyone's keepers are set as we passed the deadline.
What about the draft?
I'm thinking saturday or sunday. What are your thoughts?

For noon my time my vote would be Saturday I guess (it's not likely I'll have to work, but it's possible)Manimal wrote:I'm thinking 8 CEST, perhaps.

Sundays I wouldn't be avaialable until 1...at/after 1 PM [my time] on Sunday works best for me, but I'm unavailable any earlier

Re: Minstrel Hockey League 2016-17
I'd vote for a later time CEST. Midnight CEST would be 23:00 in England, and 18:00 for New York and 15:00 for LA. Not sure where everyone is from but think it may suit most?nino33 wrote:For noon my time my vote would be Saturday I guess (it's not likely I'll have to work, but it's possible)Manimal wrote:I'm thinking 8 CEST, perhaps.

Well, if it is this weekend we should probably set it soon so people know and can make plans.

Re: Minstrel Hockey League 2016-17
Same here on a few guys. It made me stress a pick or two but overall I'm good with my draft.
There was an interesting thing that happened in the final round. Two goalies were auto-picked but they were retired goalies!
It is one thing to get an injured player as an auto-selection, but to get someone that hasn't played since 2012 is crazy!
If not too many members disagree then I'm gonna edit those picks for active goalies before we open up free agency.
