Adding GM

Post by Craig Viau »

I am trying to take over the coaching of my minor league teams but it won't let me add a GM to anything but a NHL team.

I looked at the Selected Leagues under the options menu and only the NHL is Checked and it won't let me add any leagues ie the AHL and ECHL.

I originally ran a fantasy draft and am wondering if I did something wrong at the start?

Thanks
Craig

You cannot add any new leagues into the game once you've started. So if you've only got the NHL selected, then thats the only league you can manage in. The only way to coach your affliate would be to start a new game making sure that the AHL is selected. You can change the league detail level from standard to enhanced during the game, so it doesn't matter which of these you choose.

I would usually select all the American leagues and maybe even the Canadian leagues for my games. With this you get all your younger players playing regulary and they should improve quicker. It also gives you a much wider pool of players to select from, but this is only usually an issue when playing in Europe (when you sign most players free agent).

You can change leagues from 'Standard' to 'Enhanced' in game once it begins but if you haven't set them to be at least a 'standard' league you won't be able to add them later, no.
