Please post and feedback, issues/bugs or queries relating to the new site and forums in this thread. The site is a work in progress and could certainly use some further polish. Any constructive criticism is very welcome.
A few issues I have found since the upgrade:
The drop-down menus on the navigation header are not correctly overlaying the forum text (i.e. some of the text is peering through the menu) - this seems to be an issue on Chrome only;
The drop-down menus are struggling with word-wrapping; and
The header image is too narrow when viewing the forum on a mobile phone.
Note that the trophies have been disabled for now. I need to re-write the modification from scratch (but the underlying trophy data has not been lost).
I would be interested to hear how everybody is finding the speed of the site. Is it as quick as it was previously? I thought it was a bit sluggish after upgrading but I have now upgraded our PHP version which I think has restored the speed.

Speed seems the same as it was before. No slowness so far.
It looks like smilies disappeared from the Quick Reply box. I think it might have been the change in PHP version. In any event, I have been able to restore them using a neat little extension which also includes the following additional features:
1. If you select/highlight text in a user's post you will get an option to add that selection as a quote in your reply; and
2. You can mention a user in a post by clicking on their username below their avatar. I'll see how this function goes - if it is abused then I'll disable it.
P.s. is anybody having difficulties with the "Remember Me" setting when logging in? Tasku is being prompted to log in each time he visits the forum. Unfortunately I am unable to reproduce the issue with my account or my test user account on Chrome or Firefox.
If you get the above problem Archi mentions try re-bookmarking the forum page. For some reason using the old bookmark resulted in having to sign in every time.
I *think* I have now fixed the issue with "http" not auto-redirecting to "https". This *should* fix the issue Tasku and Philou have. How is it looking, philou21?
The Trades and RFA Signings forums for each online league should now be hidden for registered users (unless you are a Admin/Mod or a member of one of the leagues). I know some users have been looking to ignore the posts in those forums in their View Unread Posts section.
I appear to have a problem getting to some threads on the forum. I am unable to access the "Official NHL season 2017-2018" thread from the main page. Says I am not authorized to read this forum. I had no problem earlier this morning. I was able to access it through a private navigation page.
No it has been like that for several years now. I decided to put it in place because on rare occasions somebody might post arguably personal information about a game they went to, etc - so I wanted to keep it hidden from search engines and spammers.
I'm not sure why you are/were able to access it...
I might've been browsing it without being logged on. Oh well, nothing to worry. I'll reach the required post numbers and see it someday. Case closed, back to hockey managing!
Tried to switch my avatar yesterday but it didn't work, and when I tried to put it back my old avatar wouldn't work anymore either
For picture size I'm being asked for exactly 125 x 125 and anything else is being rejected
For avatars it says "Maximum dimensions; width: 125 pixels, height: 125 pixels, file size: 35.00 KiB."
when I select my avatar from my computer and then click Submit I get this message: "The submitted avatar is 100 pixels wide and 125 pixels high. Avatars must be at least 125 pixels wide and 125 pixels high, but no larger than 125 pixels wide and 125 pixels high."
My avatar that was working and is not now is 100 x 125 and 12.9 KiB
Yeah I really like the retro images compared with those of modern players. Each time I redesign the site, more and more retro images creep in! The difficulty is finding source images of sufficient quality to crop and scale up to the high resolutions of user's computers/web browsers.
The two teams merged into the Harringay Racers in 1949. Calv and I have seen the Racers play at Alexandra Palace (different to the Harringay Arena) where they use nets instead of plexi glass. Sadly the Racers folded last year and were replaced with the Harringay Huskies which are the spiritual successor team. Alexandra Palace has to be one of the nicest places to host hockey games - see the images below. IIRC the rink is located in the right-hand section of the palace, by the television mast (this is actually one of the oldest TV transmission sites in the world):
I noticed that tables have not been displaying properly. Not sure if it's an issue with BBCode implementation, but I've checked this on 4 different browsers (Windows Internet Explorer and Firefox, Linux Firefox and Android Chrome) so it appears to be an issue with the website.
Instead of displaying tables, it just displays the code (for example, "["table"]["tr"]["td"]Extremely Ambitious[/"td"]["td"]Ambition 20[/"td"][/"tr"]" instead of the actual table). Is this happening to anybody else? Thanks!
