Ah who needs Cold Fx? Try taking a dose of the Canucks to cure your woes if you are in the NHL.

The Canucks..get them now while they are hot.

Joffrey Lupul 1 goal something like 15 games...scores against the Canucks
Shawn Horcoff...1 goal 17 games...scores against the Canucks
Dwayne Roloson-yanked from the last 2 games he played..because he is a complete/total sieve. 2 periods and he has 30 saves with his crest on his chest.Should be a giant 'S' there.

Score Oilers 3 Canucks 0 after 2. Shots: Vancouver 29 to Rolly's chest Edmonton 9 pinball shots off 15 players, 3 goals.

(And hey..got em all in the pool I should know!!)

Really, it ain't Cold Fx...it is the Canucks that are the cure all of NHL ailments.

That one looked ugly I must say... and they lost three guys to injury too eh?

I was watching Boston and Montreal today; what a wild game that was! Boston pushed it out to a 4-1 load a few minutes into the 2nd and ended up barely hanging on 6-5 at the end... it was one of those up and down games that even with 11 goals scored had some amazing work on both ends by both Abby (who was in after Huet got the yank) and Thomas, lots of tough screens and deflections.

Twas ugly, eh. Salo-upper body, Pyatt shoulder, Rypien Groin...not that it matters, they will just call up 3 other guys who cannot score...likely Coulombe, Reid, and Schultz. My over-under on the Canucks next goal is 3 games. (Carolina, Calgary up next)

Hawks play a kind of fauxriginal six game with Minnesota tommorow night on Versus so the whole country can see how terribly both are playing after the fast starts. They are using footage of Havlat making amazing moves in the commericals for the game too  I guess they didn't want to bank on the dynamic Hamilaeinen duo for some reason :dunno:

The Canucks sure are going nowhere fast. Neither are the Wild or the Avs for that matter. I restrict judgement on the Flames and the Oilers, both have been a little streaky so we'll see how it plays out. Still, the northwest division is the 'most competitive in hockey' because none of the teams are doing very well....

Wow!!! What a naff win yesterday againts the Habs....but hey, its a win and I will take it anyway :-D

It was "Habs-style 05-06" win.....they dominated us for about 55 minutes, but somehow we managed to win by 1!!! :-D

Shadd: yeps, that could be the reason it doesnt work...but anyway, if u cant manage to get it to work, I can provide u with more sites who have NHL highlights!! Just tell me if u need something, ok??!!

Yeah a good win for the Bruins, and a nice one for the Islanders the night before.

Can't believe how badly the Wild are slipping. They actually built up some expectations for me with that good start.

Now i don't really know about this other guy, never actually heard of him, but i certainly wouldnt call Salmelainen a guy who has a low talent level, after all he scored most goals and had most points during last season in SM-Liiga. Okay, one great season, big deal, but i was impressed every time i saw him on ice. He has some work to do with finishing from breakaways, but because of his speed he'll get plenty of those.

I'd say he's the kind of player that he is at his best when used properly, and only then. Pretty much the same with Petteri Nummelin. He failed while in columbus, since they used nummelin as a 6th/7th defenceman or so, but now when given the proper opportunity, i hear he's been one of the better defencemen for minnesota.

This might sound little biased, since after all Salmelainen was on HIFK last year, and was one of my favourite players. Nevertheless, watch what the guy can do with 15+ minutes on ice. He's also great during pk; he might not be the best defensive forward, but look out for his flashy movement when he forechecks the puck.

Anyway, hereby I send u two links of other pages who are showing NHL highlights:

This is a very nice site: CBS....I specially like the rumour mill there, lol!!!
CBS Sportsline NHL

This u probably know already, but just in case of it: TSN from Canada...just click on audio/video
TSN Canada

Yeah I am really glad that NHL.com puts up highlights for free on their site. I try to watch it daily after I have checked up on all the footy and American Football stuff.

And a win at last :D...even if it was against Chicago in a shootout...what a great shootout goal by Bouchard.

One thing I have noticed this season, does the goal horn not go off after a home shootout goal, and only at the end of the shootout if they win?

Chicago fans are going rabid at the shootout goal.
Check the boards at the Chicago website.

"that F---in spin o call sould get him canned nice way to treat a hall of famers sig move as an in his face call disgraceful.Dude also hates fighting no big surprise there flippin nancy boy."

"I don't think that spin rubbish should have counted. He had forward movement but he basically ran into Khabi."

"As far as the "goal" from the spin move.........um, since when is it ok to pin the goaltenders right leg with your skates before you score? Complete bogus goal there."

Funny how they complain WHENEVER they lose. Its like, "We won 3 straight which is extremely good for us, but I DON'T CARE WE ONLY GOT ONE POINT FROM THAT GAME HAX!!!!!!"

None taken whatsoever... the posters on CBH.com are infamous for sharing about three collective brain cells they have to pass around in order to be able to even form words... they are quite literally the most ignorant group of posters on the planet and I say that literally. These people literally are ignorant, they know nothing. If mgsports started posting there he would quickly be named their Lord God King and Ruler. The higher the post count the bigger a moron they are.

Clearly you have never seen forum.canucks.com. That forum is horrifying.

The Oilers official forum has a few moron posters as well (mixed in with the good ones). And I mean MORONS. Stuff like:

kiporseeve hates teh lamez hes a 2 yeer wunder LOL vaginla is a ***** smyth wud kik his ***

Oh well, there are morons everywhere!!!

...even here in Spain!!! U should watch a soccer game here and u will see lots of them!!! Even NaziPigs and stuff like that....

I usually visit the HF-forums and the other day, when the B's beat the Habs it was just incredible what some guys said to each other!!!

The worst thing to do is to put all the apples in the same bag (I know, its translated from the spanish, but I think u guys get the point, right?? :-p )

Fortunately the big part of hockey fans arent stupid....at least as far as I can tell...

I do feel that in this particular regard any site having to do even marginally with the Toronto Maple Leafs isn't exactly noted for it's dizzying intellect; especially when it comes to trade rumors/valuing their own players in realtion to others. Yeah it might not be the end of the world... but you can see it from there. :help:

As for "one rotten apple spoiling the whole bunch" I happen to know from experience that there is about a bushel of rotten apples at CBH.com boards and they all have over 1000 posts there as well...

flea: you talk about soccer "fans" in spain, but french ones aren't that good too... we also have nazis that come to the stadium just to fight with the opponents supporters after the game. Last week, Paris was playing against an Israelian team (i don't remember which one, as i'm not a soccer fan), and at the end of the game some "fans" of Paris tried to massacre one of the israelian supporter :thdn: A policeman has to protect the israelian fan and get forced to use his gun to do so. As a result, a 25yo guy is dead, and an other guys is seriously injured.

I hope we'll never see such Kasparaitis in hockey...

Yeah but these incidents usually only involve the ultras.

No racism or hooliganism can be condoned, but there are fans who sadly use it not because of deeply held beliefs but as an intimidatary tactic.

They use racism and extremism as a tool of identity, to feel powerful and intimidate rival fans.
They have done good work in the UK to eradicate racism from the top levels of the game, but it is still fairly commonplace in Italy and Spain.

Tim Parks wrote well about the issue in his book 'A Season with Verona', where he describes his love of Hellas Verona, a club with a reputation for having a right-wing fanbase, and the reality on the terraces. A good read

On a hockey note, watched the first half of the dull Dallas game on 5 last night. What a great late OT winner for the Devils, and Stoll took a few shots in the Edmonton-Carolina game:

I heard about this last night on 5. Laraque is a funny guy-here is his mic'ed up fight with Ivanans
:D
It reminds me of the descriptions of old school baseball brawls in 'Ball Four', where they would be talking and orchestrating the fight in a perfectly friendly way as they hit each other.
