Post by The Senator »

I am nearing the end of my first season.I noticed that on my roster screen that isnstead of a 22 man limit,it now says no maximum limit. Why is this?Should I call up more players for the play offs?

Yep.

Usually around playoff time, the playoff teams call up some extra players to practice with the NHL club in case one of the regulars gets injured.

That way the extras have some chemistry with the NHL guys and you don't have to deal with the travel issue (which isn't an issue in EHM but meh...)

Even if you don't plan to use some of your farm team prospects it's not a bad idea to bring them up to the big club (assuming they're not in the playoffs...you're better off to let them play if you can). The extra practice time is good for development and, like InSTAALed said, they learn what it's like at the top. Real NHL teams do this every year...the kids they bring up are called "Black Aces" and rarely, if ever, play a game.

Also, there are players that come in after the NCAA coolege season or Candaian Juniors seasons end as well, this is how both Matt Carle and Wojtek Wolski ended up seeing lots of time in the playoffs last year after not being with the team for most of the season.
