Draft order issue, and disappearing picks

Post by --TheYeti-- »

I'm playing in the QMJHL, and having an issue drafting where the order is breaking in the way the draft plays out. For example, the order in the Picks tab accurately shows my team with pick #18 in the first round. When that pick comes up in the order, it shows pick #18 belonging to Charlottetown, and that pick being in round 2 instead of round 1. I've had this issue on a past draft, but decided to play through it. I'm currently in year 2033.

It does not happen every draft. Also, it only has happened in the Q. I also have a manager in the NHL, and that draft has been fine.

I don't know if the two are related, but I've also noticed that players previously drafted will disappear out of the drafted tab. If I skip over to another tab in the draft, and go back, the player will reappear.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks!

This is a bug that will be fixed in 1.5

Bringing this back up....since 1.5 (beta anyway) is now operating, and it looks like the QMJHL draft is still buggy as hell. Playing my second season in the Q. First draft:

- Picks happened all out of order
- Only 150 or so players were available to pick and the draft ended before they even were all picked
- Picked in a spot that didn't correspond to finishing position

Second draft:

- When the 6th round started, all the players disappeared except for a handful of "aiming for college hockey" players. Then the draft ended when they were all gone.

This really isn't "a" bug. The QMJHL draft is just a complete mess.

Haha, thats funny...I encountered the same thing and initially thought that maybe its the draft specifics for the Q)))) I even googled it and of course did not find anything remotely close to it...then I found this topic...duh!

In the fourth year of drafting the Q draft finally settled down a bit. (In the third year, the draft just skipped the 3rd through 18th picks in the first round.) There's one thing I've found out that seems like a bug at first but isn't: if you're drafting for example in the year 2027, eligible players were born in 2011 and 2010. But the '11 players are only able to be drafted in the first five rounds; after that, they disappear and you can only draft '10 players. I suppose this is a real-life rule, although for the life of me I can't find the QMJHL draft rules. I'm guessing the buggy nature of the draft stems at least in part from the application of this rule.

The picking order is still completely random, though. One year the team that won the President's Cup also won the lottery (and no, not via trade.)
