Very strange question about the .sav files

Post by jebr »

My hard drive flaked out yesterday and I'm in the process of recovering files. My most recent .sav files are not showing up, and the recovery program reconstructs files based on their file format.

Needless to say, there's a lot of formats, but I'm wondering if anyone knows what format the .sav file would mostly likely be in this kind of scenario. Again, probably some sort of database format, but I'm just curious if everyone knows.

Thanks!

Very strange question about the .sav files

Post by archibalduk »

The .sav file is just a binary data file with a format specific to EHM. It won't be in a format recognisable by any third party software (unlike e.g. a Word document might be). So the only way of identifying the file would be by it having a .sav extension.
