Missing player at start?
Anyone know why when I started with the Sabres, Drew Stafford was not on the team? I have all the other prospects and the transaction history does not show me receiving anything in return. Is there a way to override this so I can get Stafford back?

I don't have my game open right now to check, but my guess would be that he was still covered as a US College player at the time of the database lock-in so he's 'faked' in the game. See if any of your prospects are attending North Dakota or easier yet, find whoever is listed with his draft slot 13th in 2004 and that's him. The NCAA are really sticklers about letting college players in games with real names since that would rescind their NCAA eligability
Players aren't members of the NHLPA for terms of adding them to games unless they've played games in the NHL at the time of the deadline, so with the latest patch SI was able to add in some more prospects with real names but some still didn't make the cut and they can only the players on the official lists they recieve or they'd pull SI's liscensing and they'd lose the whole league... the 'legal department' area of the game causes many a

I'm using the latest SI patch and no extra config files or unfake data. I always find Drew Stafford as a UFA at the start of the season. He's a guy I usually sign for my minor league affiliate. Is it possible that Buffalo had let his rights expire but then later signed him? He's in the game but for some reason they never gave his rights to Buffalo.
